Gutted I won't see Rafa at the WTF. Andy had better make it. If not, it will just be the icing on a very expensive, lousy cake.

Are you going there in person?

Yes. I can't say I'm too excited by the line-up so far. As a tennis fan it's great to see Djokovic and Federer but I've been lucky enough to have seen them both quite a few times. The trip was really all about seeing Andy and Rafa.

Well, at this time it looks like all the hard work is paying off and Andy almost looks like
a shoe in (even without Rafa's exit). Have good time at O2. Also, according to the bookies
Andy is 3rd in line to win the WTF.

Thanks. Seeing Andy is all I really care about. Him winning a match or 2 would be good. If he isn't too knackered.

Expected news from Nadal's camp. Don"t know when his fans can hope to see him back, maybe in AO, maybe later

Why "later"? He's only having his appendix out. I expect to see him play the warm ups for the AO...

He's had that for a while and he's been able to play. It isn't going to get worse with rest. And it isn't bad enough to stop him competing for the first major of the year, I'm sure...

You can see him in Mudabala where he shakes his hands with a sheik and gets a million bucks
on new years day.

Not much doubt that Andy will make it as another spot opens up because of Rafa being out.

He would have to play extremely poorly from here on out to not get in. Trouble is that he might be knackered. Not sure if he can beat Ferrer this time in Ferrer's back yard based on what I saw in their last few matches, but we'll see.

Respectfully,

rafa can finally have a proper rest, get his dicky back n dicky appendix sorted out.

then he can go out in his little tub upon the savage waves of the med..or maybe just slightly choppy water, then he can go home and demand his mum sorts him out with some spam, egg, n chips.

a hearty portion or seven of spam, egg n chips is the ideal pre aussie open preparation food.

Robin Söderling on Twitter.

"Sad to hear that Rafa will miss the rest of the season. He is so needed in our sport. All the best with the surgery and the recovery champ!"

In unrelated news: Unconfirmed reports of demons turning into snowmen. Make of that what you will.

There was a controversial deleted tweet from Rafa's Twitter account, replying to Soderling. It said, "Go **** yourself, you sarcastic ****ing ****!"

Rafa's "PR man" Macho Muleberg is under suspicion of being high as a kite when he wrote it... :snigger

^^ I think it's a given that he has to routinely follow up on the condition of his knees. He'd be stupid if he didn't.

Is Rafa scheduled for surgery tomorrow? If somebody reads anything about it, can you please post a link? I am hoping fashionista will have some info. Good luck to Rafa if he is doing it tomorrow.
