I see that. It was weird. It came out of nowhere.
Agree, at least FAA is keeping warm putting his jacket on, it has been quite cold for Madrid this time of year
I have never liked Madrid, players pick up injuries, trying to play clay tennis on a HC
Bring on Roma!

This bloody tournament is Cursed full stop !
A back injury for Jiri, sad as he was playing good tennis., hopefully it is not too serious
Was disgusted when I saw tennis.com had a mistake on their results cos it showed Lehecka won. I'm no fan of FAA and when I read it was actually Lehecka who retired I was pissed. FAA's stares and slow walking piss me off.

I felt for Jiri who has played good tennis in Madrid, he was in tears when he had to retire lower back injury, hopefully it isnt serious and he can recover quickly

I watched that live and it was difficult to see. I have to think it's all the top tennis he's been playing, and the body hasn't caught up. Hopefully, it's just that his back needs rest and working on, and he'll be fine.

How can you say someone who was 0-8 in finals before he broke through and has really slid in form/confidence not be "due" for a M1000 title?
I think you answer your own question. I like Felix, and keep up some hope for him, but he really hasn't lived up to expectations. That said, he's been gifted with an opportunity. Let's see what he makes of it. It's hard to see anyone but Rublev winning, given his form, but I'd like to see Felix leave blood, sweat and tears on the court. And if he pulls it out, I'll be very happy for him.

Remember how short, sharp and fun events like Madrid and Rome used to be.The top players starting on Tuesday or Wednesday and then in action from Thursday onwards. Easy to follow, all wrapped up in one week.Monte Carlo standing out on clay for staying this way.

Yeah, I'd be really surprised if FAA pulls this off - but you never know. Maybe Rublev has a Dubai-esque tantrum. But I don't think so.

Another withdrawal for Rome, Jannik Sinner, who withdrew from Madrid with a hip injury ( I have put news on ATP News)
I think Medvedev, defending champion, could also be doubtful for Rome, he has a problem in his right leg, he had to retire in his match in Madrid

How many times did @Moxie , @tented a player play Madrid and afterwards have their clay season compromised due to some type of new injury sustained playing on that fake clay surface.

Front..that might prevent you in getting to the good tennis side of Heaven. How could anyone on this Earth dislike Felix AA? Heck I would be very happy if one of my daughters would be interested in him. Trust me, as a shotgun type of Father, I haven't said that about too many young men..
