The Sleeve aka Alcaraz serving out the 1st set 5-4 over Rublev at present
One break of serve in the 1st set and Alcaraz 6-4 over Rublev in a subdued match compared to his match against Struff yesterday
One set away from making the SF

Poor service game from Charly and Rublev breaks, as I have said before, his serve, 2nd serve is an area he can improve on
Rublev fought off BP and holds 3-0 2nd set

Alcaraz gets out of a deep hole he put himself in,nearly breaking himself with ufe in his service game
Rublev could have been serving for the 2nd set at 5-1, instead it is 4-2, he had plenty of chances to break Charly
Charly with a 'ill timed drop shot' lol! the level of Charly's fhand in the 2nd set not ideal
Rublev serving for the 2nd set 5-3
Rublev 6-3
Going 3

3 forced errors from his fhand from Charly, Rublev with a couple of BPs, Rublev using the court well and his bhand up the line working well
Rublev breaks Charly in his first service game of the 3rd set
Rublev survives a BP, I must say his serving in this match has been impressive. Rublev 2-0

Alcaraz should stop returning from the stands.
Welome Don, I was getting lonely, I think Charly's forearm is giving him trouble, his fhand hasnt had the weight of shot it normally does, he had 3 forced errors on it in his previous service game

well if the forearm is bothering him, il-advised droppers are not the way to go. Try using your BH more. And Don is right, returning from Barca is not doing him any favors. It's like Meddy. You leave all that court open and you can't possibly cover that distance. All your opponent has to do is stand on the baseline and tee off which is what Hair Dude is doing.

Well his 3-peat defense is circling the drain quickly. Now down a doub break and Hair Dude doesn't look like he will donate any points to Chuck's cause

MM, if he's not healthy enough to fire his fave shot, he shouldn't be out there. When you lace em up, you're saying I'm ready to go, come what may.

I agree as far as I am concerned a player takes the court he is good to go
Anyway this has been a good performance from Rublev, especially on serve, as his form of late has been sub par

Yep. Ever since that DQ in Dubai, he's been subpar. He lost alot of points when he didn't defend MC.

W/ Zed, Nads and Chuck out, there will be a new Madrid champ. Has anyone left ever made the final before?

MM, Taylor is playing well on the dirt because he came over early and played in smaller event last week. That will be a tough match w/ Dangerous.

I am leaning towards The Dangerous One, he seems to have found some form on the clay, in this tournament, good match against Zverev and also he has defeated Fritz on clay at RG.

It is OFFICIAL: Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from Madrid Open. It is more than likely precautionary than anything. On to Rome then...

I was correct, as Italian Media reported yesterday, Sinner was also in doubt for his match against KK
Today they confirmed it,Sinner has withdrawn from Madrid
More precautionary, than anything, the main goal is to arrive at RG at 100%
FAA get a walkover to the SFs

Alcaraz has stated he felt the pain in his forearm today more than other matches he played at Madrid. It is a slow process hopefully the forearm will get better, he does have a few days off before Rome, resting his forearm is the way to go

Unlike Yannik he chose to play. Probably should have pulled out and rested himself for a week before he would have to play at Rome.

Well apparently his team never thought he would make a QF in Madrid?, probably tried to play because he was the defending champion, they are confident he will be okay for Rome
