It's too early,RG is a different animal with the weather scheduling and five sets.I want Rafa to get to 22 before Jojo and Roger.
You mean before Jojo (Novak). Stick a fork in Roger.
Of all the impressive things about this kid are these facts:
1) He’s beaten the top 3 seeds at a Masters (Madrid) back to back to back on consecutive days, who was the last player to do that?
2)Alcaraz also has beaten top 10 players in 8 consecutive matches. Again as a 19 year old that is insane. No mental letdown, whereas most teenagers get an upset win and lay down like a log in the next round.
3) 2 Masters on 2 different surfaces and 2 500’s on red clay in the first half of the year.
I think people need to calm down as to his being a co-favorite along with Rafa and Novak. TBH, after his torrid run at the 2005 claycourt season I gave Rafa co favorite status with Roger back in 05.
Now being considered a favorite means to me having the best chances of winning, which is arguably where Alcaraz is at. Personally I still think a healthy Rafa has the absolute best chance to win RG, but Alcaraz hoisting the trophy would not be a shocker to many tennis observers. Of course he’s a favorite. Granted, The pressure on him is enormous, but the good and bad news is he’s only just turned 19 years old. You have to go back to Rafa to have a legitimate teenager contender who has a more than solid chance to hoist a Major trophy
