It sure cost him job as it was not a politically correct thing to say in public, especially when you hold such a position. But, there is an element of truth in it.

Yup, I was gonna say the truth hurts but, yeah, it hurt him in so far as it lost him his job. But what he said was pretty much bang on.

He was the tournament director, and women played 50% of the event. It wasn't just impolitic of him to say it, it was stupid. The women's tour was also paying part of his salary.

In my experience nothing unites the men on these boards like a perceived feminist post. If that distracts from the stupidity of the above, you're welcome. :cool:

Pretty sure the guy has more than enough money so good on him for setting the record straight imo.

No one's going to nominate the multiple embarrassments of Serena @ the USO after she was an established star & #! in the world? :eek: :facepalm:
Speaking of that, I don't know where else to put this, but it's a very interesting piece from ESPN as to whether Serena was more hard done by, and the judgement of women v. men in general.
