I just saw the last of the set. JJ was serving for it and got broken back. Or broke himself. Monfils is already in the final.

Niceone. Didn't watch Monfils' match and gave up watching JJ v Gasquet as the stream quality was poor. Will try and watch the final though.

All French final: Gasquet v. Monfils. Any predictions/preferences? I'd be happy for either, and I think they both have renewed focus and commitment. I'm just hoping for a good final.

Congrats to Monfils. Looks like his serve was on fire.

Watching the match, the first thought was I had never seen Le Monf play so aggressively from start to finish. He was CRUSHING balls from start to finish. Just like he does sometimes in practice..

If he played like this all the time....????

His problem in the past has always been the tendency to show off too much and end up injuring himself. Sure those jumping forehands and other mad aerial shots in multiple clips online look unreal, but he's ended up missing tons of tennis as a result of overdoing things imo.

Of course. One could never call his overall approach cerebral. If he could get his strategic approach in line with athleticism it would be frightening.

He still has issues. he bailed on a few points when the rallies got deep, looking to end the point one way or another.

Monfils is certainly playing more aggressively this year. It seems to be paying dividends. He's only lost to Nadal so far in 2014.
