Another mammoth hold for Nadal, saving 2 more BPs.. you got to give the mallorcan some big kudos for hanging in there. 6-5 Nadal.

Good stuff, but Rafa did rather steal that set. Thiem showed his youth and boldness in a good way throughout, until the end, and then in a bad way. Hopefully 2nd set will be this entertaining.

Enthralling match though.

Absolutely. Some really great clay court tennis. I really like Thiem's game on clay.

Thiem is young but he has a good mentality not the kind of guy who switch off the brain after so many missed opportunities such as Paire for example. Still think that he can win this one... and it will be all good for my bets :)

I think Wawrinka owns him... matchup, Simon has been playing well recently.

Nevertheless I'm having a looksy at the odds on my betting account tonight. If I can get a 4 or 5 I'm gonna lump it in :cheerleader:

Thiem's backhand is right out of the Wawrinka model. It's a brute of a shot

Rafa seems to be just a half step too slow on his footwork on the forehand side these days. It makes a huge difference
