40-15. Anyone guess Vesely would be the guy to take down the world #1

WOW!!!!! Has to be one of the biggest upsets in recent memory on the ATP Tour--Novak seemed almost invincible.

Awkward guy to play though - a leftie who mixes things up and isn't afraid to go after his shots. I thought he would would hang around in this match as he's competitive but never expected him to win.

Wow...I just saw the end of that. And Berdych is out. I'm going to have to watch some reruns later.

I wasn't shocked to see Rafa lose last year or this year... he was coming back from time out of the game, whearas Djokovic has been the almost invincible #1 for the last 2 years.

This is Federer losing twice in a row to Canas in terms of shock value to me. You have to factor in Novak's dominance. Probably just the blip, but we'll all be wise to watch out for decline talk now. Anyway.. certainly makes RG more interesting!!

Lol, somehow it has to turn into talk about Rafa. Nole losing to a top 10 guy is more surprising than Rafa losing to a scrub at this point.

Anyways, quite a shocking loss today. Will be interesting to see if that breathes some life into Rafa this tournament. Even without having to worry about Nole in the final it won't be easy to get there but his chances go from slim to very good if he reaches the final now. Nice opportunity for Roger but this is his first tournament back and it is the slowest and highest bouncing clay.

Well because nothing is shocking me anymore after to watch Nadal, the best clay player of the history, losing against anyone but not just a match so I don't understand what is the big deal besides to congrats Novak's opponent who has played very well

^ Rafa has been on the way down for years, just face the facts that he is past his prime now and you can accept it all a little better. Rafa may still win some big events but he is not going to consistently play like he did even just a few years ago. They all go through it and it takes time to adjust to it both for the players and the passionate fans. It doesn't shock me anymore when Roger loses the occasional match to journeymen, even at slams. And the time will come where that's the case for Novak too, probably within a year or two.
