Anyone watching right now? Verdasco is down 5-7, 0-5 to Matosevic. Dimitrov is up 7-6, 5-1 against Tipsarevic.

What's going on?

Tennis is indeed a funny game. Great to see it move back to the summer clay court swing. Verdasco hasn't been the man he once was for a long time, but this is an extreme reversal so far...

Dimitrov wins, good for him, beating a top 10 player. A first this year. He might have a nice run here.

Hopefully Dimitrov makes it to the quarterfinals. It's possible, just one more win vs either Mayer/Agut. That would add 180p to his tally since he didn't even enter the main draw last year and that could put him into the Top 30 for the very first time. Looking ahead he can gain a lot of points in Madrid and Rome too where he has nothing to defend due to not being ranked high enough in order to participate there last year. So from that point of view the sky is the limit for him, at least points-wise. If he gets his act together on a consistent basis on the dirt which I know is a big if then he could seriously make a case for the Top 20-25 before Roland Garros. MC this year won't be his breakthrough tournament with Nadal standing in his way but at least it could be a start where he gets something rolling.

So, has Djokovic withdraw already or is he still testing his ankle?

My guess is that he'll withdraw immediately following his loss to Youzhny. :)
GO YOUZHNY!!!

Verdasco is becoming Pathetic. It's sad, as he is a great player to watch, when he isn't in a tailspin.

DelPo is through. Vamos!

I'm loving seeing Grigor Dimitrov play well. For whatever reason he's becoming my favorite of the Young Guns. Maybe it is the "Baby Federer" thing.

Moxie,

Isner has to beat Gulbis before djokovic which will be a tough ask considering the quick turnaround from houston to monte carrlo. I am glad big john is getting to Europe early, and hope he ends up being a terror on clay, but I am not sure monte carlo will be tournament for him considering his first round draw and jet lag. BTW, I hope Houston may mean he is breaking his slump of late. Almagro on clay is not small feat.

Ernie takes out Big John in the R1: 4-6 6-2 6-3. Three sets is a good effort for John since he had to travel on Sun evening.

Watched the Tsonga vs Davydenko match. As much fun as he is to watch I can't help feeling that that weak-ish backhand of Tsonga is going to stand between him and a really big prize like a slam title or a YEC. Nothing is impossible, but the odds are against him, especially in this era I feel.

I am so excited about MC. In 5 days we will know if No1e won it for the first time or the other guy for the ninth time or something.

Tipsy made me disappointed against Dimitrov. He did have a habit of choking several years ago, but this was much worse than those past ones.

Well, we did wonder about you for 8 months after Rosol win, soon we may wonder about you forever.

I understand why Nadal's left arm is twice bigger than No1e's, but I don't understand why is his upper body 3 times bigger than No1e's.

1- Steroids.
2- Food is cheaper in Mallorca than it is in Monte Carlo, so Nadal generally has more access.

Broken just throws that one in as a prophylactic. ;) But, seriously, Novak is literally about to disappear when he turns sideways...that boy needs to EAT!

@Mastoor...good to see ya!
