Sania Mirza and Bruno Soares lose to Peya and Babos. I have been telling Sania that she should change partner in Mixed Double. This guy seems to be a liability. This is not working out for her.

I need to take this comment back. I mixed up Soares with Tecau (the Romanian guy with whom Sania used to play before). Actually, Sania won USO MD with Bruno Soares in 2014.

The mixed doubles finals is set. L. Paes and M. Hingis will play A. Peya and T. Babos on Sunday.
Paes and Hingis should be able to win this comfortably (adding another to title after their AO win).

Also, Martina is in LD finals as well playing with Sania. That would be a tough match against #2 seeds Vesnina and Makarova. But, I think Sania and Martina will win that one.

Martina and Leander win the first set 6-1 in the MD finals.

This is so bizarre not to play this match on TV! I'm sure some don't mind seeing Williams again, but I haven't watched much of it once! It shouldn't have been a match with this child standing in the way of Serena's "SLAM!" :cover  :nono

Congratulations to Martina Hingis and Leander Paes for taking their opponents to cleaners in MD finals with a score line of 6-1 6-1. :celeb:

Martina is the only person to wi two titles in this Wimbledon; one in LD and one in MD. :clap:clap

I hadn't realized Martina hadn't won at Wimbledon since the 90's! No wonder she was searching for a different partner so often! Mirza's a keeper with the winners she was able to match Hingis in again and again! That was one tough double's match; coming back from the brink yesterday! Strange they aren't playing any of it on ESPN; IDIOTS! Like I really want to see Serena beat up on this child! - Congrats to Hingis! :clap :popcorn

This is the second title for the pair Martina and Leander. They also won the AO this year.

This is Martina's third and Leander's ninth MD title.

I checked my guide on RCN and it doesn't look like they have any plan to play the doubles! I suppose they can throw it on the end of a final's repeat which is going to be "overdone" in the following weeks! They even intend on showing the semi's again; more than a couple times!  :dodgy: :cover

No need to limit yourself to highlights. You can watch the whole match. It lasted only 40 minutes. :laydownlaughing

I think Fed will pick Martina for the mixed doubles in 2016 Olympics and needless to say that they would have a good shot at gold.

Stan will play with either Timea or Belinda.

I also think Fed and Stan will decide to skip the Men's doubles event as they already have the gold in it and playing in three different event in Olympics which happens in just 10 days is asking for too much.

Fed and Hingis would be excellent.. Roger can protect her weak service game unless they encounters Serena and what American slug they pair her with.

Long wait and Short wait:

Martina had to wait for 17 years since she last won a Wimbledon doubles trophy in 1998.
But, After winning the Ladies Doubles trophy with Sania Mirza on Saturday, she just needed to wait
one more day to add another Wimbledon trophy with Leander Paes in the Mixed Doubles event.

I agree. Ideally they should play some events before the Olympics so that they get a feel for what the other one will do before he or she does it. Why not at the FO and Wimbledon? ;) They would definitely do well. Fed is Fed and Hingis still has the best hands in womens tennis imo.
