Seen Carreno Busta play quite a few poor TBs now actually but he'll surely improve. Last match I saw him play was against Kohlschreiber and he choked badly there.

Well, Tomic is recovering from surgery. But he's got this year to reinvent himself. Pretty soon, (or now,) others will be passing him by. The clock is ticking on him, I think.

He just had pretty extensive bilateral hip surgery so it's kind of understandable he lost badly...plus he was scheduled to come back in clay season so it seems he came back far too early.

Hip surgery for Boris Becker now I see from tennis.com's news. Probably Novak might have some better results now while Becker recovers. If it wasn't all the diving at Wimbledon that bust his hips it was diving into closets outside of tennis :p

Tomic was out partying thirteen hours before his match in Miami. This bloke simply does not change. I hope he begins to start to lose his sponsors or the "special K's" make him realise what real Aussie tennis is all about.

Just had a terrible thought: Becker might stick around long enough to make Novak perform badly at Roland Garros. Then, Becker gets fired, in which case I will have to listen to him again on the BBC during Wimbledon. :cry Absolutely worst case scenario.

:laydownlaughing Becker's making an impact. I read somewhere that Nole pays Boris 100% of his salary - and Rafa pays him a further 200%! :p

Looking back to the US Open 2011 final, Novak's volleys were so much better back then. He says Boris is only there for the mental insight and I hope he's not showing him different volleying techniques as Novak's volleys are awful right now. :nono

Nole was never great at the net and funny enough, this is an area Boris could help in. But can anyone imagine Becker giving technical lessons?

"Okay Novak, first thing to start, get down on your knees about six inches away from the net..."

He was great at the net in the US Open 2011 final though so he has his days. Or had. Mostly terrible at the net these days.

I'll gladly tolerate Becker's awful commentary if this happens ;)

It was probably just that one match (I honestly don't recall how well he volleyed in that final, but I'll take your word for it). Even at his absolute best (much of 2011), Djokovic's net play was typically shaky, at least compared to the rest of his rock solid game.

Yeah possibly just this match as nothing else stands out to me really in the net department but these highlights show some very good touch at the net and I still maintain this was the absolute highest level these two have produced against each other, particularly much of set 3 but even sets 1 and 2 Nadal was ahead before Djokovic caught up and Nadal was also playing extremely high level tennis eventhough he lost those first 2 sets. It was only 1 break in set 2 after all in the end, with Djokovic winning it 6-4. Anyway, some very good volleying by Djokovic here.

3 matches are underway today:
1. Anderson in full control of the match against Zeballos, 6-4. 3-1.
The other 2 are a tight, Gasquet and Alejandro Gonzalez keep changing breaks, 2 by now each, now 5-4 for Richie and in the other one David Ferrer literally stole the first set against Gabashvilli, who actually played better until 5-4 for David, when he broke the Russian.
Until then, David had almost no points won on Gaba's service games, while David had to save 5 BP on his.

Ferrer - Gabashvilli 6-4, 6-0.
And David struggled in the first set, not so much in the second obviously

Gasquet - Gonzalez 7-6 in a set which lasted 1h and 20 minutes!!!!

Gasquet passes the Gonzalez test: 7-6, 6-4.
They called Gonzalez "youngster";)
He is 25y old, I guess in today's tennis everyone below 26 qualifies for that label.
I was impressed by Alejandro, I am sure he will find his way soon into the top 50 at least.

Can hardly wait for Karlovic v Federer. No really I can. Will watch it but don't exactly anticipate any fun viewing. Best matches tonight are probably Djokovic - Chardy and more so Gulbis v Benneteau. Hope Chardy and Benneteau make things interesting.
