And like Djokovic...why do you have a problem with that?

If and when Novak becomes more of an "impediment" than a winner, I'll be kicking him too! The man added 3 Majors and a YEC to his record last season! It's obviously not his time to exit gracefully off the stage! Players like Murray & Monfils just have a good match here and there to be an annoyance! Djokovic is still competitive w/ the top players! Other vets are scratching past Qualifiers, Jrs., other vets, & WC's!:fearful-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy: :astonished-face:

What a load of crap. You were all about being bored with the old guard until you glommed on to Novak. You stopped caring about youngsters. And, BTW, who both have 8 wins this year (and no more)? Novak and Monfils. Take a hike.

Um, Luca Nardi? LL, and ranked #123. And Novak didn't scratch past him. Also, Murray and Monfils are in the main draw, and they are box office. So what do they take away from anyone? Arguably, they do the tournament good. Unlike Djokovic, who bailed on it.

The game has sped up so much, I can't believe it! It's hard to watch really! Back in the day, I thought I could compete w/ just about anyone w/ my serve! I couldn't comprehend trying to keep up w/ the game now even though I'd attack relentlessly! That means nothing as any player in the top 300 can hit winners from anywhere on the court over 100 MPH! That just wasn't the case back in the 70's & 80's! If I were to picture what I mean, look at 1986 USO Women's Final w/ Navratilova vs Graf! It was a tough 3 set match w/ 2 TB's! It's comperable to what I'm talking about w/ Graf smoking her FH & Navratilova trying to make Steffi uncomfortable w/ her attacking style! Even then it was a dangerous proposition to challenge Steffi's passing shots! Now you can possibly lose an eye, get whacked in the head, & take one to the gut! So far Novak's been able to keep up, but it's defintely getting tougher w/ the likes of Sinner & Alcaraz, but few others when it counts, BO5! :astonished-face: :fearful-face: :face-with-head-bandage: :angry-face:

Doubles matches cancelled for the day.
Hearing that tomorrow's OOp will be pretty much today's OOP if Friday gets all cancelled
Alcaraz and Zverev already told they will most probably start on Sunday

I think it's fair to say Djokovic wins quite a lot of tournaments compared to Murray

Logic & common sense evade some who won't acknowledge Novak is accomplishing something w/ his "hanging on!" He's still winning Majors & is very close to breaking Connors' record of 109 ATP Tourn. wins! Players like Monfils & Murray are just holding back the next wave of players taking spots out of draws that should be open for "up & coming" talent! I promise to be just as critical of Djokovic if he's just hanging around! On the ladies' side it's going on with Venus, Azarenka, & now Wozniaki! :fearful-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :astonished-face:  :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Stop talking about people who aren't even competing in the tournament. Take that stuff to another thread, please. Thank You!

Finally the courts have been dried, apparently the forecast remains clear,
4 mens matches are now on court
Fritz(12) vs Seyboth Wild
Tiafoe (21) vs O'Connell
Griekspoor (25) vs Michelsen
Baez (18) vs Koepfer

Fritz says the court is not 100% dried, so they have brought out the blowers to the court, match delayed
Finally play has begun on Stadium between Fritz v Seyboth Wild

Seems as if Novak was smart to skip Miami; 'cept to make an appearance! This "stop & go" rain delays don't work for Vets! "Prepare for clay!" :fearful-face:
