Huge game here, with Sinner serving at 4-5.

EDIT: he holds easily! 5-5

And the shadow has finally covered the entire court.

Sinner two points from dropping the set. :nono:

EDIT: two SPs for Medvedev.

EDIT: Daniil wins the first set 7-5.

Yup, I knew the moment Sinner immediately lost his serve after breaking Medvedev’s serve that he will lose the set.

I wish Medvedev showed this level at the AO though…

Sinner fhand into the net, which has been soo strong in this tournament, also let him down when he needed it, when he was broken.

Jannik needs to win rallies to hold his service games, Meddy does not, lets see what evolves in the 2nd set

I just think Medvedev is just a bad match-up for Sinner on HCs. It is what it is at this point…

Sinner and Alcaraz are just likeable..

I like their games, but "liking" is hard w/ their court personas! The "fist clenches" & exorting of the fans to cheer them on is too much! They aren't seasoned enough to be doing that stuff! They're rookies, newbies to the tour trying to make their bones! Carlitos arrogance rivals Nadal already! ;-)

I’ll file this under Djokophrenia.

Anyways, congratulations to Medvedev on winning his 5th Masters 1000 title of his career. Interestingly enough, he has not defended a Masters 1000 title in his career. He just needs a IW title to join Federer and Djokovic to win ALL HC current Masters 1000 list.

Meddy is a 'master' of effectively extracting errors from his opponents, Jannik has found it hard to hit around the 6ft 6in Meddy.
