she has more time bashing Serena but no time working on her game.Slown has a good game if only she can focus on herself and stop worrying about what Serena fans.
I think whats stoping her is low self esteem....

That hasn't really been a thing in a while. Like, it was one set of comments sometime last year. I think it's time for Serena lovers (which I am) to stop hating on Sloane for one set of comments. They are competitors and Sloane is getting better. This switch to her childhood coach of Saviano has done wonders. It's been two weeks now of her losing to women in the top 3 of the world. And she actually loves clay. So her favorite time of the season is coming. Back on topic though, it's really time to let this little thing about her basically just saying that Serena isn't her role model go. Just let it go. Let it lie. I don't imagine either lady thinks it's a big deal. I'm sure Sloane is plenty worried about her game. She's working on it clearly. Her mental and physical game. She's certainly got work to do. But she's definitely focusing on herself.

Actually overall it was a good tournament for Sloane making the q/finals at Miami
Sloane still has area's in her game that need improvement, she is talented there is no doubt about that.I didnt mind that high bhand volley she did,the hardest volley in tennis. Her footwork at times can be lazy, she did improve in the 2nd set.

Stats for the match won by S.Halep 61 75

Simona 17/26 BPs 5/10

Sloane 8/30 BPs 2/4

We now have Halep14 match win streak vs Serena's 18 in their s/final.

Quite frankly I wasn't impressed with Serena's win,her footwork at times was just downright lazy, she was waiting for the ball to come to her, very unlike Serena, her serve also was very unSerena like, though as most Champions do they find a way to win, even though it was ugly at times

Serena to win in 2 tight sets,or even 3 sets

Impressed with both Petko and CSN in this tournament, both deserve their s/final spots.I am going with CSN,though it would not surprise me if Petko wins the match.

Serena is the best at playing those tight moments....her mental fortitude is underrated. All they talk about is power power and dont mention her monumental will to win even when she is not at her best.

Sorry, but it's not only mental but also her stratagey and when to move to plan B. She figures out her opponets really fast.

Petko clearly frustrated in this match so far,did a bit of racquet bashing after she lost that last point against CSN

CSN has been the steadier player and deserved to win the 1st set 63

Her fhand cross court has been doing the damage so far in this match.

Carla.Suarez Navarro d A.Petkovic 63 63

Impressive match from Carla, she didnt face a BP all match, her cross court fhand did the damage in this match, also she hits with heavy top spin, which Petkovic could not handle at all.

Well done Carla you deserve your place in the final.

Bad luck Petko still a good tournament for you reaching a s/final at Miami

Congrats to CSN on her first premier final. Carla played a safe and effective game. I was disappointed in how passively Petko played for most of the match. She seemed content with just keeping the ball in play and did not seem to want to take any chances. She final got a little aggressive for a couple of games in the second set, but by then Carla had the match in firm control.

As for Serena vs Simona, I feel that it will be a tight match, but if Serena has a good first serve and protects her second serve, Simona would have to play near perfect tennis to beat her. Simona would need to win most of her first serve points and defend extremely well. That said, if Serena plays like how she played in the quarter-finals, she will not win this match.

I agree, you hear that sentiment all the time, and what happens when she plays like, she finds a way to win.

She finds a way to win sometimes. She's lost some playing like that as well. So if she plays up and down, then it really depends on her opponent (will they capitalize on Serena's poor play?).

Carla played a beautiful match and deserved to be in the final. She seems so shy and down to earth...there is no drama from her.
