It was nice to have your commentary, since I couldn't watch. Obviously, I'd have preferred if Kyrgios had won, but sounds like he's back to playing reasonably well, or at least when he plays a top guy.

Nobody else is commenting, it's like there is some big soccer tournament going on or something :)

Was watching bits and pieces. Caught the end of the TB from 3-3. Clutch play from Roger there. Back to number 1 for I guess 1 week minimum. Raonic will be a tough final opponent but on paper Roger should win this and build more points cushion.

It's not nice when you feel that you're talking to yourself. In my case I don't mind so much because I'm a bit of a writer (poetry, short stories & songs) so I think people aren't interacting because they are interested in what I've put. The transition from just writing to chatting too has been very hard for me because I can express how I really feel in rhyme spontaneously & can't really say anything wrong whereas with chatting you've got to consider what you have to say, how you're going to say it, how the other person may feel & what the other person may think or feel about what you have to say as well as how they may react. I'm not normally lost for words but get flustered sometimes & because of P.C. gone mad I sometimes don't know what to say anymore. I've really enjoyed getting to know people & making friends though. I think the world cup is on though I'm more into equestrian sports, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, rugby & ice-dancing. :0)

It's all good, I'm just a Yank who doesn't like football (the non-US kind). For the rest of the world this is the biggest event of the year for sure.

Honestly if he returns like that and and brings any kind of a decent game he won't lose at Wimbledon. The backhand looks like it could use a lot of work. Forehand wasn't great but had its moments and definitely not his best match at net. He could play a lot better but look at the stats of the match and they look lopsided even though Kyrgios served great.

Also Roger got a pretty nice draw at Halle. If he goes 3 tomorrow that will be a lot of tennis this week, way more than he bargained for.

I don't blame you. Soccer must be quite boring for you as your version of football is quite rough like our rugby. I live near 3 rugby towns so grew up with family watching rugby & all the towns going mad over it. I've even been in a rugby town on match day. I disagree. The sporting events of the year for me are Badminton horse trials, Royal Ascot, the Grand National when no horses are killed or injured & Wimbledon. As you've probably guessed I've got horses on the brain.

I couldn't give a toss about it either. Klinsmann started off the diving craze years ago and until they bring in action replays it will get worse and worse. Clowns like Ronaldo and Drogba took it to new lows flying through the air like they're auditioning for the next Superman when no one touched them and then rolling around in fake agony as if they'd been kicked in the head by Bob Sapp. So f*****g embarrassing. With replays if they see someone dived and no one touched them, they should ban them for the next 2 matches and cut their massive wages for the rest of the season to 25% They wouldn't be long stopping it then. That match between Spain and Portugal yesterday was also juicier than a cocktail of Lance Armstrong's blood.

Nicky had 20 aces yesterday. He will need the same type of effort if he wants to win today. Maybe even more than 20. It will likely go 3 and I think Fed will prevail. Nicky can go on walkabouts during his matches.
The oracle has spoken and it played out exactly this way.

I generally don't like sports where there isn't any scoring. Baseball is way too slow and soccer fields and hockey ranks would need to be significantly shrunk for me to be interested.

I'm surprised to hear any non-Americans who don't love soccer. Even here the interest in soccer has picked up in a major way the past decade even though the team has always sucked.

This match just shows how hard it is to dominate grass when the margins are so low no matter how good of a player you are. On clay you can just defend defend and defend and win.

I wish they kept court speed index for all the minor tournaments too. Stuttgart and Halle are lightning quick. The Wimbledon surface to grass is like if they played RG with the Madrid surface. Rafa and others have caught enormous breaks with the Wimbledon surface over the years. No reason Roger couldn't have won at least 10 out of the past 15 Wimbledon's on fast grass.

Infact if the first week of Wimbledon stayed that way the whole 2 weeks, neither dull nor faker would've sniffed a Wimbledon. Shame they have 5 of these. Same for that pusher Murray

But that reasoning doesn't hold up Darth. Because he's dominated on the slower grass too.

Not as much as he could have. You think Nadal or Djokovic would have a prayer vs him on a surface like this or Halle? I don't even think they'd have made more than one or two finals total and if they did they'd be overwhelming underdogs.

Murray actually would've done very well on the fast grass too. Counterpuncher with a big first serve. With Nadal and Djokovic I think they'd have struggled quite a bit, especially Rafa.

You think as Fed ages, too fast isn’t great for him? He will lose foot speed as time passes.
