This event was won by Kei the last 2 years. Can he make a tre-peat?

Poor Ryan Harrison... the reward for winning his first round match would be the chance to face Kei in the second. :nono

I believe this used to be a 500 event, which surprised me as the hall in which they played looked like a challenger level event. See that they downgraded it now. Makes sense, too bad Kei is losing points here, he should have played Rotterdam.

You are not up to date. The downgrade happened last year not this year. Kei won it both in 2013 when it was a 500 event and last year in 2014 as a 250.
He is now defending that title, so he will not lose any points.
And this year, the field is in fact deeper than it was the last few years.

A very rare instance these days on the ATP, among the 8 QF- ists, there are no less than 5 players from the USA:
Isner, Querrey, Johnson, Young and Krajicek!!!
They are back:snicker

Nishikori is not playing well this week. Maybe it's a good thing he chose to stay in Memphis instead of going to Rotterdam. :snicker Hope he can pull off the three-peat though. And because of his success, I get to hear tennis updates on Japanese TV and radio every day. Love it! :clap

I saw his score against Krajicek. He had to work really hard to put qualifier away

I know this is a small tournament and Americans made up like a third of the field, but just to see these guys win matches is encouraging.

KA47 is in the final, yay, our friend IH must be happy with that. :D

He is waiting for the winner between Nishikori and Querrey. It looks like Sam's been playing well this week, I haven't watched any of the matches.

Querrey almost had it but Nishokori escapes with a second set tie break and here we go to a third set.
