Some gutsy play here by Berankis to hang in there. Impressive.

Great win for Fritz. He's definitely a promising player, especially with that serve.

Glad someone else likes the little guy. He hits a pretty nice ball. Fritz has a better chance against Nishi.

In a way they're pretty similar, Fritz and Nishikori. Both slim guys who hit the ball hard and have great serves when on but equally so can be totally erratic on serve and they both hit nice angles and change direction of the ball easily. That'd be a nice match to watch hopefully.

Just saw Fritz for the first time. I like him. His emotional steadiness and serve will take him far.

Querrey is doing what he can to make sure Nishikori doesn't play the final this year. Up a break in the first set. 4-2

The court at Memphis seems nice and fast. Liking the pace between Berankis and Fritz here and would love to see Federer v Djokovic on this court.

Jimmy Arias says it plays slower than usual. Fritz said also he would have like to play faster.

First time I've watched this tournament but it looked quite fast to me but if it was faster before that would've been even better viewing. Impressed by Fritz. Very respectable scoreline for his first ever final and the game he held for 5-4 was mighty impressive when down championship point.

Yup, I am very happy for him. I am glad I found someone to root for when Nole gets old:D
Until then, I will root for both of them, along with Milos when he is around:clap

Fritzy is the youngest American player to reach a final since Michael Chang in 1989.

Commentators had an interesting stat during the match. It took Djokovic 22 tournaments I believe they said before he made a final and 3 for Fritz. He's off to a good start.

Have you watched the ceremony? When Frtz thanked for his family and GF supporting him?
The general Oahhh chorus in the audience of the disappointed young ladies? :snicker
