But he's playing very, very well and still looks to be a future elite. He'll be a fun villain to root against in the years ahead.

Wait until his probation is over in a few more weeks. It will be lot more fun. :lolz:

Nick wins the second set in a TB (3) and he captures his first career title.

Nice. Forgot this match was on so must watch the highlights. Hopefully this is a new more dedicated Kyrgios for 2016.

Definitely looked impressive there. We need more consistent challengers to the top guys this year so hopefully Kyrgios might prove to be one of them.

If he can keep his emotions under control, I think he's a better bet than Dimitrov, who btw lost to Rajeev Ram(????) in Delray Beach. Kyrgios beat Gasquet, Berdych and Cilic in a row to win this title.

He has the two most important things to challenge the top guys: he has the power, and he has the attitude. The only other player I can see that could potentially have these things is Raonic, based on his AO showing, but he needs to stay physically healthy, which seems to be an issue for him.

Actually staying healthy is an issue so far for both Kyrgios and Raonic so hopefully things will be better for both this year.

Yeah, I know Nick's had a lot of trouble with his back in the past. I didn't get to see much of Marseille. Was he looking physically o.k. there?

Yeah, Nick's had a lot of problems with his back hasn't he. Both tall guys so physical issues an occupational hazard I guess.
