They are probably 2 of the unluckiest players ever, having to deal with tons of injuries and setbacks. They should have won double the amount of their current slam tally. :-( Hopefully they will both win so that justice is served. :good:

One was extremely unlucky to have been subjected to a cruel, heartless attack. The other is to blame for running like a gazelle all his career and not finishing matches quicker. You reap what you sow and you make your own luck. I like Kvitova but she's too inconsistent even when healthy to have won more. Bit of a wasted talent like a female Safin. Great thread btw.

You can do what you want but I don't think people's prayers will do any good as I'm an atheist. Winners are determined by hard work, determination, skills, talent, who played best on the day & a bit of luck that no one comes down ill or injures themselves on the day.

When a colleague visited Neils Bohr, the famous Atomic Physicist, he was surprised to find a horse shoe hanging over the door to his house. He asked Bohr, you are a scientist and an atheist, how come you believe in hanging horse shoe over the door. To that, Bohr replied, "Of course, I don't believe in it; But, I heard it anyway works even if you don't believe in it and so I am hanging it."

Really? That's interesting. We all act in ways contrary to what we believe sometimes. For example, I'm an atheist but I still sing Carols at Xmas because it's tradition, fun & good vocal exercise & on Burns Night I say the Selkirk Grace because I think it's a good poem too. I read the Bible sometimes but see it as a good work of fiction with good poems in areas. I think that the Bible was written at a time of great animosity when people didn't know as much about the world as we do now & that it was written to explain how things came to be, give people something to believe in & set some laws in the hope that people would start living in harmony with each other instead of fighting each other. I'm also triskaidecophobic but I'm starting to get over it.

Prayer has zero impact on tennis matches.

Dear God, please forgive them as they are not bad people but only ignorant. :negative:

Show them the light dear Lord as only you can.

We're not ignorant. We just have different beliefs to you. The existence of God is not a matter of science but belief. No one knows whether there is a God or not & I don't think we'll ever know. Different people have different beliefs & the right to have them. I find it very hard to believe the universe was created in 6 days by 1 being. Since men have been in space & just seen planets, stars, satellites (like our moon), comets & meteors as far as the eye can see & God is supposed to be in heaven up above where is God & where is this heaven?

Actually, I think broken shoelace is a very good writer. He has written about things other than tennis on here sometimes. You just write about hoping Nadal is going to win & how good Nadal is. I have written about many things on here. Books, history, music & animals to name just a few things I've spoken about. How can I be ignorant when I've spoken about many things & you've just spoken about 1? I think you have too high an opinion of yourself. I've discussed many things, you've discussed only 1 thing. Wouldn't that mean that if I'm ignorant you're more ignorant than me? We judge things relative to 1 another. I'll give an example. There are 4 people around a table with a big 8 written on a square piece of paper. The people at the top & bottom of the table saw a number 8 while those on the side saw infinity signs & they stated that. Who was right? They all were relative to where they were sitting. I could give other examples but won't bother. What standards are you using to define the word ignorant?

Hate to break it to you but I don't think dear Lord is too concerned with tennis matches. Should have bigger fish to fry.

Has zero impact on anything actually

It usually has a negative impact, because CROM, the most powerful god out there, HATES prayers, and he crushes the feeble, lame, disgusting mortals that keep praying, instead of fighting, with his unforgiving godly fists. But I don't give a damn to that fucking old bitter god, sitting alone in his lousy mountain.

Your sincerely,

Conan

If there is a God I'd say Nads wouldn't be so successful, especially since he is atheist.

Lol. He's like the Norse God Odin then in that he only helps those who help themselves.

Stupid logic.

We are ALL the children of God. :smooch:
I disagree because according to believers people are punished for being unbelievers by not having their prayers answered because they don't pray. Therefore Darthfed's comment makes perfect sense.
