Just thought I will bring it to people's attention. Fed qualified for the 12th straight
year. That is again a record. Tying with Lendl for most consecutive appearances.

For most non-consecutive appearances, Agassis holds the record with 14 appearances.
Both of these info are found in the article on ATP website about Fed qualifying.

We're witnessing an unreal era in tennis. Between Federer, Nadal and Djokovic there are some mighty records out there to be beaten.

Agreed, Front, and I think sometimes "folks" (meaning all of us) can get a little complacent about expecting what these future Hall-of-Famers do and don't do, or can and can't. At some point we have to get over our day-to-day differences, and all tip our caps in amazement, and at the privilege of getting to watch it.

I'm pleased Federer will be at the O2. With Andy out it would have been another huge loss if Roger hadn't made it. I'm looking forward to some great matches. I wish Tsonga had made it.

I'm sorry Jo-Wil didn't make it, too, but he is gimpy, and wouldn't have made the most of it. Fascinating race between those that are left. It's going to take a lot of "moxie," if you'll allow me that, for the last ones to qualify. I wonder if being on a real press won't help them.

That's true. He did seem to be struggling a little. I'd like Stan to qualify. He has played some incredible tennis this year.

Nadal, Wawrinka and Del Potro are the 3 biggest threats to Djokovic, so it would definitely be disappointing if Wawrinka missed out on WTF. I think its only a matter of time before Wawrinka beats Djokovic in a big match.

So, finally the WTF field is set with Milos losing today. Gasquet and Wawrinka officially
qualified and Tsonga will be the alternate.

It is well known that Roger Federer is a great indoor player. In fact, he tops the
list of FedEX reliability carreer index in indoor matches.

However, in the current index (which measure his indoor performance during last
52 weeks), he is not even in top 10.

In particular, among the players who qualified for WTF this year, he ranks 5th.
Djokovic, Ferrer, Del Potro and Gasquet have better current index than Roger as
of now.

See for yourself by following the link below.

http://www.atpworldtour.com/Reliability-Zone/Reliability-Indoor-Current-List.aspx

So, it is not clear how Roger will fare at WTF this year.

Even though Paris torunament is not over, the group situation has now become clearer.
It is now officially guaranteed that none of the following four disjoint pairs of players can be in
the same group.

1. Rafa and Novak
2. Del Potro and Ferrer
3. Federer and Berdych
4. Gasquet and Wawrinka

So, Each group will consist of exactly one player from each of the 4 pairs above.
If you want explicit listing of such pairs, I think tented posted it before.

The only thing is that, it has now become official.

As long as they put Nadal and Federer in the same group, I'll be happy. Nadal desperately needs some indoor matches vs Federer. I generally don't care for h2hs (but I do care for slam h2hs), but the lopsidedness of Naderer's indoor h2h is something that has to change in Nadal's favor. Hope they meet twice at the World Tour Finals.

Who said Nadal Fans like you and Fed fans like me always disagreee? I want exactly
the same thing as you. I wan't Fed and Nadal to be in the same group. I like Fed's
chances against Nadal much better than his chances against Djokovic in indoor
hard courts.

In addition, I want Ferrer and Gasquet in Fed's group.

Its true, Federer is more likely to beat Nadal. Although of course we'll get some current insight into matchups here at Paris, especially if Federer beats Djokovic tomorrow.

Me too. I would really like to see Federer add two wins to his disgraceful and inexcusable H2H against Nadal.

Considering Federer plans to play for a few more years, Nadal will have a chance at evening up the indoor h2h, if Nadal continues to improve on hardcourts (and Federer continues to decline). That was Nadal's attitude all along. A reporter asked him if he cares about records. Nadal said he doesn't play for records, he plays to improve. That's why he's improving at age 27. That's the difference between Nadal and Federer.

Actually you're completely wrong if you think Federer didn't improve past 27. His serve mightn't be as good as it was a few years ago but it improved past age 27 leaps and bounds. His first strike tennis improved and Annacone helped him get back to world number 1 and win Wimbledon and a rake of titles last year. His physical side has declined but he himself thinks his tennis iq has evolved as it has had to adjust to him getting older. That's an improvement. Ability to improvise with age. The other difference between them of course is more obvious. 5 years. See how much improvement Nadal is still making at 32.

At age 32, I don't expect Nadal to be facing players of the caliber of prime-Djokovic/Murray. So it will be very hard to measure whether Nadal is improving at age 32. He'll be winning big however, that's for sure. Or he'll retire from boredom.

How can that be "for sure"?
