Jannick through over Fognini 62 36 63
Good win for Sinner. He gets Krajinovic tomorrow. Like I said, he has a good draw to potentially reach the semifinals.

Also, Djokovic vs. Wawrinka, hopefully it will be a good match.

Stan has won a lot huge matches on as you say sheer guts alone.. Im curious how Wiki has Stan's GS career incorrectly..

What did they get wrong about his GS career? Just curious. I don't think Stan is anywhere near ready to take on Djokovic.
Stan was 2017 Finalist at RG.. he lost to whats his name..

Here's the deal.. Stan doesnt have to be "ready" to face Novak. Stan is the worst match up for Novak however your point is understood. Stan is Novak's boogeyman.(just kidding..jajaja). no doubt. I think Stan will play first strike high risk tennis vs Novak if he is allowed too.

The list him as the finalist in the link you shared.

Stan is coming back from the near-dead. Sure, he has been Novak's nemesis in big moments, in the past, and it's not like Novak is top-drawer yet, either. I hope it's a good match, but it would be a huge upset if he beat him.

I thought it had him listed only as Winner at RG in 2015 on the right side of the article

On the right, I think they just list the wins. At the bottom, there is a chart of finishes at all majors which lists 2017 correctly. Plus there's a whole paragraph heading that says "2017 French Open Finalist; knee injury."

It was different for Murray..the right side listed his 5 AO finals

I think it lists the best results at each major on the side. Look at Murray's Wimbledon: 2x win, but he also was a finalist in 2012, but not listed. For Stan's W they list a QF.

Are you on meds this morning? :lol6: Stan needs about 8 more weeks of matches and even then I don't know that he'd be ready to beat Djoke.
Yes.. I am under the weather.. Allergies or something is going on.. These games have been going to deuce but Stan just isnt winning the major points. Novak is playing good.

Well with Novak’s win over Stan he sets up a QF date with Felix AA. Felix looked good with his win over Giron but ….

Hes been hovering in the top 15-20 for more than a year but Felix has yet to make his stamp, IMO. I dont think in a big tournament, ie Majors or Masters, Felix has that one big “signature” win over a top player like some of the other young bucks have enjoyed. In a few months Felix turns 22, if not now, when?

Well Felix, heres your shot:

First meeting ever between him and World # 1 Novak.

This isnt like last week match between Carlos and Novak. Carlos is very comfortable on clay and have everything to hit thru Novak's defense. This is not a good match up for Felix on this surface. FAA needs free points and he doesnt have the patience to break down Novak's groundstrokes nor has the consistency on his FH to hit thru Novak. IMO.

Well, Uncle Toni has been working with Felix on his claycourt game for at least a year now, no?

Here's the thing: all this talk about how gifted Felix is, but compared to some of the other contenders for the post Big 3 throne at the moment things are not looking good for him. Granted Medvedev hates clay, but even he has had some good claycourt results in Masters and Majors. (SF at MC, QTRS at FO) Rublev has done well on both HC and red clay. Even the Crown Princes (Tsitsipas and Zverev) thrive on both and young Jannick Sinner has a Masters finals on HC AND a QTRS at the French Open. Ruud, more a claycourter had a breakthrough at the Miami Masters reaching the finals. Of course we all know how well Alcaraz has done on both surfaces.

So maybe Felix won't understandably beat Novak tomorrow, but if he's still a one surface wonder maybe it's time to reassess how much he'll climb. Though I do think at least making it to the QTRS here at Italy is potentially big for him.
