Pouille the lucky loser : having lost in qualifications he should get approx. 3000 euros prize money... being in semis he should get at least 177000 euros :)

Now that is a Lucky Loser

I was hoping they'd move the time after Monaco pulled out but it's been advertised quite a bit already, so I guess the TV guys wouldn't allow it even if there was the will.

Monaco Pouille was scheduled on Grandstand and not Centre court. Therefore it has not affected the Djodal match scheduling.

I thought Monaco was a "has been" already, but he's played OK this year and had some surprising wins. I wouldn't rule him out against Pouille.

Monaco is a has been. Pouille gets the walkover as Juan is gone.

With regard to Djokovic "waking up", Bellucci was playing at a level where no one was going to beat him - that first set.

Too bad about Monaco. I hope nothing too serious.

Djokovic was also a mess that first set. He was spraying errors very uncharacteristically. But Bellucci was very very fine.

I didn't see the Djokovic match but read your post about Bellucci. "Any given Sunday" type of set, I guess.

It showed the level of tennis the Brazilian was capable of, and why so many of us were hopeful that he would step into the void that Guga left. Injuries and a lack of the fortitude found in true champions have relegated him to journeyman status on the tour.

Who have you got out of Nishikori and Thiem?

Goffin and Murray about to get underway. I didn't see the Goffin/Berdych match... but what a thumping Berdych took on the chin.

I think Murray wins this.

I thought Federer was actually striking the ball pretty cleanly with some flashes of top quality goings-on. obviously he wasn't fully mobile that was clear, as he said after the match.

but a couple of matches here just keeps him in the loop. after his qf in rome..he got 11or 12days until playing rg if he thinks he is ok to play 3or 4 rounds he should play, if not withdraw and focus on Stuttgart/halle/wimb/ and screw the consecutive majors run.

I think he'll play RG - just for match fitness primarily... 3 or 4 matches would be good for him and if he can go further than that then it's all icing on the cake.

Murray's turned this around quickly after getting broken in the opener. Reeled off four straight and now 4-1 up. Looking sharp.
