Andy takes the first set 6:2. Anybody else thinks Lucas is kind of cute?:)

Pouille doesn't help himself with those easy misses at all.

It is still a huge day for him, point and money wise. :drums:
True, Wasn't Pouille the Lucky Loser to get first round action from the qualifiers? Not taking anything away from him - it's been a good tournament for the guy, but I think he's out of his league in this encounter.

Andy wins easily 6:2 6:1. He will be fresh as a daisy and confident tomorrow.

Murray wraps it up. "Andy Murray in a hurry" as the commentator put it. Impressive performance by the Scot... should be pretty fresh for the final. Looking forward to seeing how he competes with Novak (assuming Novak beats Nish, which is almost a foregone conclusion IMO)

One never knows BB, Nole is the favorite but they don't award wins on that basis alone.

Sweet dreams BB...see you guys later.:bye:

Kei Nishikori supposedly has a leg injury. Even if he bows out and give Djokovic the walkover, Murray will still be fresher for the final. :-(

Djokovic could play for five hours today and I would still call him a favorite for tomorrow.

(But yet I have a feeling that this would be the most "open" French Open in years).

:) I said Murray would be fresher, not the favorite. I'm very interested; why do you believe this would be the most open French Open? Rafa's looking the best he has in over two years. Novak's been winning with his 'b' game and yet able to up it to his best level when necessary. If they are on opposite sides of the draw, what do you see stopping their march to the final?

Really exciting and high quality match from Novak and Kei today. Novak hurt his ankle early on, though it seems just that he might have hit it with his own racquet. But he was pretty grumpy for the rest of the match, and got a code violation for slamming a ball too near a ball kid. Nishikori was valiant to the end, but couldn't close the deal. It was long and physical, with a lot of thrilling tennis. I'd give Novak the edge tomorrow, except for Murray being the fresher.

Nish gave Novak a much better match than I was expecting. I didn't see it, but was surprised to wake up to that scoreline even if the victor was expected.

Is Novak's ankle a cause for concern?
