It's 25 seconds, not 20 is the allowed limit.

Oh is it. Then what's all the fuss about! :snigger

Great winner by Ralph but he dropped the previous two shots criminally short...

Simon needs to improve at the net 'cos he was dictating a lot of those points and fumbled at the net.

I think it's 20 seconds in the slams and 25 for ATP events

After 3 BP's, Simon breaks. We're heading for a breaker

20 at slams? When they play longer and need longer to recover? Does this strike anyone else as perverse?

Not really. They have to make it more fluid viewing for spectators, plus they get ample time to sit down between games.

They also get a day off between matches most of the time.

Simon falling apart a little. Nadal leads 5-1 at the changeover

Yup. Good point too. More so for women, the slams are far less taxing than Masters events because of that day's rest.

5 SP's for Nadal after a hard exchange at the net. He takes the set on the first one w/ an error from Simon 7-1

Not too sure that the day off matters as much, when you're in a slam. It's more intense on the day off than most tourneys are on match day.

Glad Rafa won the first - now I can watch a film on Netflix... :)

Only saw the tiebreak but Simon seems to be going for more than usual and making some errors in the process. Was that his tactic in the first set?

Kudos to Simon for taking it all the way to tie-breaker. Now, the result of the match
is no longer uncertain, I suppose. SO, I too stop watching this nonsense.
