And just as I type that he hits another nice shot. Close TB.

A mini collapse here by PHM. 5-4 Fed to serve for it

Well, Matthieu is still fighting, to his credit. Another MP to Fed, though.

Hope my thoughts of Roger losing set 2 in a TB haven't jinxed him :/ As much as I like Mathieu don't want Roger playing a 3rd set. Looking better now though scorewise.

Done! Good job Roger. Made it dramatic, but got it done in straights.

Phew. Very well played by Mathieu in set 2, especially at the start of the TB.

6 errors in set 1 and 20 in set 2 for Roger. Rough 2nd set towards the end.

To me, this is one of those tiny cracks in the glass ceiling. Roger failed to serve it out, (which has become a bad habit of Rafa, lately,) and Matthieu, based on nothing in his history v. Roger, started to believe. The end result is still the expected, but the attitudes are different.

Fed manages to win in straight sets.

Lots of unforced errors, especially on the back hand side. Need to clean up the game.
But has time to do it.

PHM gave a good fight in the second set.

Fed cannot act like WTA players and not close out the match while serving out.

Yeah, I think a lot of the top guys take it for granted when ahead that it's gonna be a straightforward affair and mentally shut down with their minds already in the locker room. It's a bit premature to think that way and it almost bit Roger on the arse there. Mathieu took full advantage of Roger's lapse. Just unfortunate for him that he himself had a bit of a bad patch towards the end of the TB as he started it so well.

The exodus of US men continues. Three more lost today, including Sam Querry.
At this moment, only two are left.

Ryan Harrison is scheduled to lose to Fognini later tonight.

The other one is the lone seeded US player John Isner, who probably will one
or two matches before losing.

Delpotro and Cilic lose the opening doubles match. Hard to say anything from the
result as it was settled in STB and they were playing a good team (Nestor and Zimonjic).

I did not see the match. If anyone saw the match, can they please post a message
as to whether JMDP does only slice from backhand side or is he able to other things too.

They'd be expected to lose to that team tbh.

ERV holds comfortably 5-4. Milos to serve to stay in the match

Milos levels it at 5-5, but ERV is not backing down. Holds again 6-5
