Genie goes back into the bottle. Taken out by a qualifier from a Dominatrix less half. Too bad.

Now, folks see my OP. As I said there Ana, Aga, Genie are all gone. Carol is gone. Maria is
gone one round later than I said.

We got Serena and Simona as the only 2 folks who are supposed to reach the QF and actually reached it.

Well deserved win after her ankle injury in the first set. Genie still searching for that game that was so good last year. Pressure at the boiling point, using towel over her head ala: Vera Zvonereva!

Two surprising exits. I can't believe Penetta was so upset she cried through the first set yet won the match. As for Bouchard, I hope the back injury is minor. She is getting a taste of how difficult it is to win consistently on the tour. She had so much early success that she has no appreciation for what the veterans have gone through.

Good to see Lisicki and JJ playing well

I will be interested to see how Timea plays against Serena,of course Serena will be too strong for Timea,in saying that what a great experience for Timea to play one of the greatest tennis players of all time.( maybe the best)....they have met before just checked, still Timea is having a good run at the moment.

The other 2 quarter finals to be played tomorrow

Lesia Tsurenko (Q) who is having the tournament of her life v Jelena Jankovic....neither player has met before

Sabine Lisicki v Flavia Pennetta....again neither player has met before

My selections are Jankovic and my fellow country woman Flavia,if she can play like she did against Sharapova she can defeat Sabine.

I agree with your picks. JJ and Penetta should advance to the next round.

There has not been much movement in the rankings due to IW for the top players. I notice that Serena is separating herself from the pack by a huge margin. If she stays healthy, she can finish another year as number one.

Tsurenko retires down 1-4 in the 2nd set, clearly her ankle has been a problem today, she injured it in her match against Bouchard.Bad luck Tsurenko you came in as a qualifer and had a wonderful tournament making the q/finals of IW.

Jankovic wins on retirement 61 41 she moves onto the s/final.

Lisicki vs. Penetta... Two players who do well 2 or 3 tournaments out of the year and nothing the rest for a vastly inflated ranking.

Well was rooting for Flavia but she put up some good fight... Lisiki was so inexplicably emotional at th end as though she'd won the whole tournament. But I guess this is big for her considering she never does well outside of grass:huh:
