We have an all Czech R16 match. Have these two played against each other before?

Berdych leads 1-0. Beat Rosol in Rotterdam back in 2012.

Was that before you learnt to spell "Rosol"?

I think Kieran is the only one who willfully misspells "Rosol."

Just looking ahead to tomorrow's match Tomic v Kokkinakis, last time these 2 players met was at the Brisbane International tournament earlier this year.It was a close first set going to a t/breaker which Tomic won, then Tomic really showed his experience winning the 2nd set 61 I believe from memory.
To be honest I was delighted in the way Tomic defeated Ferrer, who has been playing great tennis of late.I still feel at this stage of Kokkinakis' development,Tomic will be to strong. In saying that I would be delighted if Kokkinakis won.Still I am proud of what he has achieved as a 18 year old making it to the fourth rd of a Masters tournament.

New evidence: Federer quote from the ATP site:

"I don't think we both played very well tonight," he said. "We both struggled with the conditions, the balls. I think it's tough to get ahold of them, the right way with the right spin. Maybe as you move along in the tournament, hopefully it's going to get better for me and for any player. It's one of those matches you're happy you're through, and I was happy it was over."

Does any one know who is in charge of taking out Rafa? Is it Simon or Milos ....... or does
Fed get to improve the H2H? :puzzled

Nope, nobody knows who is in charge of taking out Rafa or Roger or Novak. None of them are playing well but their opponents neither (Seppi played awful). I don't know it's because the balls or something else but most of them are are far to play their best.
Hope to see today better game and matches :s :popcorn

Hi guys, I might seem new but I have actually been following this forum anonymously for quite some time, and this has been bothering me for a while so I decided to make an account. What the hell is up with the ranking of the Bryan brothers? I don`t ever watch doubles but still, I don`t understand what is up

Yeah, I`ve seen it, the problem is, if you check their youtube channel, they posted a video about ranking updates, and they even said that Fognini and Bolleli are leading the race. How did that go unnoticed... Imagine the hype if they left out Djokovic and said that Fed is the number one
I can already see the headlines
Maestro still number one at 33 or something along those lines :D

^The race is one thing, the rankings another. In a nutshell, the race only counts 2015. Fognini/Bolleli won AO, so they're leading the race.

Yeah, my bad, I forgot the fact that the Bryan bros are not number one in the race.

I am also intrigued by this rivalry, Bernie showing more consistency and improvement, and Kokkinakis riding a wave he has not experienced before.
Overall, now that Hewitt will end his career soon, there seems to be a lot more hope suddenly in the Aussie tennis than for sometime before.
The odd makers are calling this match as the closest contest also among the 8 matches today.
But, of course, you never know, because surprises we have seen all along this event.

Also, if Rafa wins today, Simon will be the highest ranked opponent (14) he has defeated this year. therefore , it will be a very good test.

There has been a few good younger players in Australia, though it does take time for their development, some develop quicker than others.I always knew that Nick and Thanasi even in their junior days would be the 2 players that would come through the ranks, they played each other at the AO Junior Boys final a few years back,Nick won that title.I also think now with Pat Rafter being in charge of development we will see a few more younger Aussies doing well.I am still sticking with Tomic to defeat Kokkinakis. At the present time with Rafa's game any player would be a good test for him.His match against Young was just woeful on all levels. He can only improve on that performance....hopefully.

Rafa also has made comments about the balls
