Berdych beats Dimitrov 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the SFs. Dimitrov's ranking is now at No. 28 on the Live Rankings. Yikes.

Free Falling.

Friday's Results!

Quarterfinals
(1) T Berdych (CZE) bt (5) G Dimitrov (BUL)---7-5, 6-4
(2) R Gasquet (FRA) bt (6) J Chardy (FRA)---2-6, 6-3, 7-6(4)
(7) J Sock (USA) bt (3) G Simon (FRA)---7-5, 7-6(5)
M Baghdatis (CYP) bt (8) G Muller (LUX)---7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3

Way to go Baghdatis! He just keeps popping up here and there, making SFs or finals. Good win for Sock too. He has a chance to take this title. Berdych suddenly making a title charge after winning nothing for 9 months.

Semifinals:
Berdych vs Baghdatis
Gasquet vs. Sock

He's won two titles each of the last three years actually.

Tomas Berdych wins his 12th career title, 2nd this year and second this month by beating Jack Sock 7-6(1), 6-1 in the IfStockholm Open. This is Berdych's third title here. Sock will up to No. 29 next week, two spots lower than his career high. As consolation, Sock took the doubles title with Nicholas Monroe. That makes his third doubles title this year and 6th overall.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I somehow always had the feeling that Bird manages to stay in the top 10 without winning any titles or at most one per year.
