Not happening. Fed wants another Wimbledon badly and is also itching for another crack at a singles gold medal. I think he will play until he feels he has next to no chance to win a slam.

Exactly. Did you hear what he said to Feliciano Lopez at the end of their match? Lopez said something like they were running around like crazy kids out there and Roger said, "We've still got a few good years left." and then Lopez sort of smiled and dropped the F-bomb. Roger just laughed. So no - even if he won the US Open - he wouldn't retire. Why should he? Even at a newly-turned 34 - there's only 1 guy who's beating him consistently right now.

As far as Roger winning the US Open? I think I'm sort of obsessed with watching Roger play...but I'm not kidding myself with that one. It's really going to depend on the draw and if anyone gets hot during the tourney the way Cilic did last year. I wouldn't even say Nole is a sure thing for the final - until I see the draw...

At risk of stating the obvious, Roger should retire, when he wants to.

Roger usually says that he will not retire before next OLympics. This is just a nice ploy that he discovered as it would have the effect of stupid reporters not asking him again when he will retire for the next four years. It would not be surprising if at the end of next year, Fed announces that he will not retire before Tokyo Olympics.

If Roger wins the US Open...he should be considered one of the favorites to win the Australian Open.

I mean, he is regardless. How many guys would you seriously give a chance to win that tournament right now? Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka and...?

Right now, not many...in 2-3 months, someone can catch fire...that includes the Sapanish dude.

agree with everything. Except for "beating him CONSISTENTLY" ;)
