You did a good job of singling out the one person who has
grand slam trophy out of the 10 listed without looking up, even
though the event is not correctly identified. You get A-.

I'll take it! (I need an emoticon for brushing one's fingernails across one's chest.)

BTW, you were right also. He won the Juniors in 2010 at USO,
although I would not call it GS Title.

Perhaps, my grading was harsh. I change it to A (but not A+).

Can you guess what I do for living?:snigger

I'm psyched for my up-grade to A. And I'm guessing you're a HS math teacher.

they need to get off the hard courts. hard courts don't make champions.

you have to raise them on clay.

either that or send them to the very best tennis academies in spain, france, and Germany.

The big problem is that there are not good on HC either these days. This week end for example, 5 of them entered into the qualifications for the Canadian masters: Russell, Sock, Kudla, Smyczek and Ram and none of them got into the main draw. The first 3 lost in the R2, the other 2 in R1.

Well, there it is. Great point, herios. I'm glad you pointed it out.

Starting next week, sadly there will be one less American in the top 100. as Mardy Fish will drop out due to his absence in Montreal.

that just proves the point further general herios.

the game has changed. you need to develop your game on clay.

clay alone teaches you to become more consistent off the ground.

and it teaches you mental and physical discipline. you need to be able to construct points. 1 or 2 good forehands are not good enough to win a point. you may need to hit several in a single rally.

even nick bollitieri tennis academy was finally forced to install some clay courts. now regular work on clay is required there.

You must not have seen him go down in flames to unknowns in WTT! It's sad to see of a USO champion and 3 time Wimbledon finalist! Both Martina's are doing better than him!

Ouch! That's funny, but the sad thing is you're probably right.

And none in the Top 20. It's keeps getting worse for US tennis.

Remember Jack Sock's strong 2012 Wimbledon in which he defeated Florian Mayer in 1R, Flavio Cipillo in the 2R, and then lost to Nicolas Almagro in the 3R, but not before taking him to tiebreaks in the first three sets of the four set match? Not much from him since then.

None of the American players excite me. Ryan Harrison is a headcase. Sock and Kudla are decent, but probably no better than #30-50 players.

The US needs to realize that in tennis, as in culture and technology, they're starting to lag behind the rest of the world.

Why is Sam Querry not even playing in Montreal despite being
eligible? Injury or laziness?

Just read it on twitter, he withdrew due to personal issues.

Believe me they are completely aware how much they suck at these things.

With Isner's loss, there will be no Americans in the top 20 for the first time in rankings history.

I have a little bit of hope in sock, as he has steadily marched into the top 100. Harrison worries me more, because of this fall in the rankings.

Unless Ryan sees a sports psychologist, and resolves his anger issues, he's not going very far at all. Federer notoriously had a huge anger problem until he saw a sports psychologist (I think for a year and a half), and learned to get beyond it. I highly doubt he would have become the player he is today had he not resolved this.
