Interesting interview with Federer in the Telegraph.
Classily, he never mentions injuries as an excuse for 2013 (about a third of the page down :snigger )...

It was for a Serbian newspaper "Vecernje Novosti" I can give you a link if you want.
Actually Nenad said that he would have probably played with Nestor next year as well if he hadn't gotten an invitation to play with Llodra.

Apparently Nole will play 2015 Doha tournament as a preparation for AO.
Nole and Andy are game to run a marathon after their tennis careers are over, Federer not so much.

I thought Nole usually either completely skips preparatory tourneys for AO as he feels so
confident about winning there. A loss lost year is probably making him to be cautious (or he
does not want tense situations at the year end with somebody or other breathing over his neck for
the #1).

I think he plans on taking Jelena and Stefan with him next year, so why not go earlier than usual and play a tournament that actually awards official ATP points.

I loved it when he played the Hopman Cup, that was usually good enough preparation for AO for him. Since he extended the contract with BB for another year, I think that this time things between them will be a lot smoother than this past AO.

Rafa has waded in on the Spanish davis cup sexism row. It's kinda base that toni was accused of sexism in the first place, when all he did was question a persons ability to do a high profile job. It muddies the waters here, when this charge is laid out as the first line of attack. Maybe somebody could have answered what Toni said, instead of playing the sexist card...

He's had zero quality match practice since Wimbledon, but a benefit of coming back for Doha is that so is everybody else. It'll affect him less than if he took off so much time before the USO, for example...

Good that they are able to find another place willing to hose one. So, Switzerland now has
more tourneys than top 100 players.
Hope it is a different Tiriac than the one I know.
I think Rainer Schuettler is a former player.
