Read the schedule again It is only 2 tournaments in a row. Wimbledon is 2 weeks after Halle. Grass matches are much quicker and easier on the body. Stop worrying like an old woman. This ain't Roger's first year on the tour. He knows how to manage his schedule and his body better than anybody on the tour. He made it to age 34 without a serious injury that required surgery or a long time off the tour and NONE of the other top guys can say that.

But Roger did make a colossal mistake in scheduling last year but a big part of that was having minimal to no practice and playing a medium-slow HC masters. Grass at Stuttgart and Halle is much different and he will come in fresh

Stuttgart-Halle-Wimbledon-Cincy-USO. That is bare minimum he'll play. We don't want another USO 17 where dull undeservedly walks away with another bullshit USO.

The Wikipedia page for Federer's 2018 season lists the events of Wimbledon, Toronto, Cincinnatti, USO, Shanghai, Basel and WTF as his schedule for this year. I don't recall Fed ever saying anything about his Wimbledon schedule. Does anyone know as to why it is stated like that. I know that Wikipedia page is maintained by crowd sourcing. But, why would the crowd want to say something they don't know about.

When will Fed confirm Cincy? Any idea?

You got to be fucking kidding me. That retard will never learn.

Don't over react. It may not be all that bad due to two reasons.

1. It is Toronto this time (where he has historically done well) and not Montreal (where he has generally sucked).

2. Part of the problem last year is that he decided at the last minute and went there without practice or even basic fitness
right after a vacation. This time he would put in effort before going there.

It was a stupid decision last year regardless of whether he got hurt. These are 2 MS events, not the same as weak competition on lightning fast grass after 2 months off. Also the major, which is what actually counts, is on a medium/slow HC. If he does well at both Toronto and Cincy he will be compromised. It was a bad decision in 2014 and it's a far worse one now.

I think he won't go all out to win both. If he wins Toronto, he will take it easy in Cincy (still will try to win, but not at the expense of injury or fatigue). If he loses early in Toronto, Cincy is like hedging the bet.

Dumb way to do it IMO. Cincy is one of his 3-4 best tournaments, go there and thats good enough. Not exactly a huge break between Wimbledon and Cincy anyways.

Also, the race for YE#1 is getting too close for comfort. It is an all too important thing this year in comparison to some other year. It is one of those double whammy situations. If Peasant becomes YE#1 this year, he ties TMF with 5 each. If Roger wins, then he would be leading Peasant by two (not just one) and that may be good enough to keep the Peasant off forever in that category.

Now that Fed cut a sorry figure at Wimbledon, he does not have a chance at YE #1 unless he wins USO. Hence, I agree with DF now that he should give himself the best chance to win USO. At his age it appears to be best to limit to one warm-up tourney and given his record there to select Cincy for this purpose.

There is no need to play both warm-ups just to accumulate points any more.

Cincinnati- 1000
US open- 2000
Shanghai- 1000
Basel - 500
ATP finals - 1500

But he's confirmed for Toronto.
I think he'll play that and skip Cincinnati if fatigue becomes an issue.
Year end chances now defends on Djokovics win in Fridays SF and Nadal underperforming in the North American HC swing

He should play Cincy, USO and maybe YEC. After this shitshow of a return to action he needs to lick the wounds and stay strong. The fucking peasant is trying to make his career obsolete and it's up to him to prevent it. And if he doesn't care he might as well quit, just like he did today.

He won't skip Shanghai(Rolex),Basel(Hometown)

Ranking is out of his hands now so he should really go all in at US Open tbh

I agree that is what he should do, if Rafa goes any further at Wimby. If Rafa goes any further at Wimby, his lead over Roger is so big that even if Roger wins USO and Rafa exits in first round, it will still be very difficult for Roger to grab the YE#1. It may be time to waive the white flag.

p.s. See my post in rankings thread for exact numbers.

I know, he won't even skip the stupid Laver Cup or Toronto either. I'm just saying what he should do. USO counts and so does YEC, play Cincy to get ready for a goddamn war in New York and that should be it for the year.

You guys are obsesssing with #1 too much, what counts is majors and our dude just went full blown retard in one of the biggest moments of his life. He doesn't deserve to be #1 and he's unlikely to finish top 2 after this.
