This season has been an exciting one with the emergence of Bottas, Ricciardo, Magnussen and Kvyat, even if the Mercedes dominance has been a bit tedious. Still, a dominant team with an inter-team battle still makes for an interesting title fight.

This is a sad story, a young man loses his life in a race:

WATKINS GLEN, NY - The tragic death of a 20-year-old race car driver at tiny Canandaigua Motorsports Park near Rochester, N.Y., Saturday night has thrown NASCAR Sprint Cup star Tony Stewart’s life into turmoil.

Any thoughts on Tony Stewart's running over the driver Ward. I have seen the Youtube version. It appears to be man slaughter but its just not clear cut.

I don't want to watch the video but I don't really believe he'd have done that on purpose. It was idiotic of the guy to run back on the track and Stewart can't exactly have had enough time to react for it to be considered pre-meditated.

It was something out of the Road Warrior or Death Race 2000.. Its very horrific..

I am really uncertain and if a came before a jury, Stewart would probably not be convicted

My first impression was that he took him out. Can't see it standing up in a court of law though. Ward was playing with fire going out on the track like that.

BB, I have thought about it and the common denominator is why on Stewart's car hit Ward. I thought that he could have made more of an effort to avoid the young angry driver but really it was very unfortunately foolish on Ward's behave.
