The evergreen Feliciano Lopez in the draw. I have to say...that guy has stayed very healthy across all of these years.

I’m sure you know this, but for those who don’t, Feliciano holds the record for consecutive appearances at majors: 74 and counting.

I did know that Feli had passed Roger, but interesting to note that Verdasco did this year, and it went unremarked. I watched some of Lopez`s match v. Tommy Paul today, and that one-handed backhand was on song today.

I've really been scratching my head to think of another guy who's been as long lived in tennis, so near the top as Lopez, who has been so untroubled by injury. TV said today that it's his 23rd year on tour. Anyone else come to mind? Anyway, good for him.

I feel really bad I picked against my man Frances Tiafoe who won today. Also wanted to point out a newcomer, who got a wildcard in: Luca Nardi. 16-year-old Italian. Seems to be one to watch. Just put a pin.

Dimitrov took 3 sets to dispatch the Beautiful Pablo Andújar, which doesn't bode well for him, being that Andújar is much more of a clay man, and this is indoor hards.

i am finding it a struggle to focus on tennis (and football) everything is in the wrong place, rankings are confusing and ephemeral (back to normal rolling rank charts in jan2021 ?)..no fans..some tourneys cancelled, some temp tourneys popping up or annual tourneys played out of usual slot..

so yeah..stuff n wotnot. time to check the scores then.

Ugo Humbert d Alex de Minaur 61 76(4) to win his second career title.(Humbert is now a career high of 32 will be a great chance to be seeded for his next slam).
