Injured Delpo retired....poor guy, he should have a wrist surgery instead of trying to play again and again. I'm very sad for him

But that's what he did with the very first wrist injury , no? Played for months, delayed surgery...I am not his doctor but with his wrist problems, just rehab here and there is apparently not cutting it. Shut it down, get better, come back strong. He is still a young dude.

Time off won't help a wrist injury seeing as the minute he starts playing again he uses his wrist instantly. Probably should consider surgery alright.

I don't know. JMDP looks like he will never be fully fit in time to do anything great
in his career.

Anyway, the three wild cards had 100% success in 1st Rd.

Malek. Somdev and Ward.

That's what I meant by shutting it down. Have the surgery, get better, rehab, come back when ready.

Yup. Got what you meant and 100% agree. He's probably doing it more long term damage if anything by playing now. These guys playing year long on painkillers/anti-inflammatories can't keep doing that forever.

It certainly does feel like dejà vu. We can't really second-guess his doctors and his trainers, (though we will,) but it's frustrating to see this happening again. I was really surprised to see him play Rotterdam, which does look to have been a mistake. Poor guy…he was so disconsolate when he retired in Dubai. But he's got to give it the time it takes, and if surgery is required, not wait months trying to rehabilitate it. That's what he did last time, and it cost him a year.

I watched him yesterday and thought he was quite rusty and not nearly sharp enough. He needs to tighten up his game in these next two matches or Roger will send him packing in the semis.

Jo (Tsonga) looked pretty good out there yesterday. His match with Berdych should have been the semifinal for that half of the draw. DP's injury kinda sucks the excitement out of the tournament. :(

Beeing seeded 5, Jo was deemed to have a tough QF. The draw did not play into his hands to be in Delpo quarter, so now in that QF Kohli will play Jaziri who dismissed Devverman.
I think Berdych looks good to go all the way into the final.

Crazy net play by Radek, but he can't serve out the set. Fed breaks back. On serve 5-5
