Edit: Deleted my post because it had nothing to do with tennis.

Five titles in 2014 is Goal, one down and four to go.

Now, Fed has four Top 10 wins already and that too coming from four different players.

I'd actually like to see him skip Madrid and play Monte Carlo for once.

They just showed the rankings there. Nadal at number 1 is around 12000 points ahead of Tsonga at 10 lol. Unreal.

It'd round up a nice weekend if Haas won his match today. Down 5-3 now though in set 1. Er, wait....they were showing yesterday's match lol. Today's match is starting in 3 mins.

Edit: No they weren't Haas lost the first set alright. I realize this is the wrong thread I just like Haas and if he won today along with Fed I'd be happy.

Edit again, I see from Moxie's post in the Sao Paolo thread Haas retired down a break in set 2 :( Bummer.

I'm still not that impressed by Rogers level of play. IMO this was more about how bad Berdych and Djokovic played. So I wouldn't necessarily promote him to a slam contender just yet.

Guys this level of tennis is very far from what these guys have outputed in previous clashes. Let's just say everyone is a work in progress and IMO significantly lower level than the current best (Rafa and Wawrinka)

I just finished watching the match. Congrats to Federer! Great week. Let's hope he can keep it up, and remain competitive the rest of the year.

Well he showed fighting spirit that was lacking most of last year and that's a huge difference right there. Down a set and a break to Berdych last year and there was no comeback. I'm not promoting him to slam contender by any means but equally so the opponents he beat this week don't look like contenders either. A lot can, and likely will, change before RG and Wimbledon regarding players' relevant form.

Down a set to two top 10 players in successive matches and he won both. That's mighty impressive compared to last year.

That's what has most impressed me this week: Down a set against both Berdych and Djokovic, but coming back to win in three. Too many times last year, those matches would have been over in straights, pretty much regardless of his opponents' level of play. It's great to see Roger now fighting them out.

I think by any measure, Federer is looking better this year, already. I think it's a combo of his confidence and his attachment to the new stick, and both of these maybe related. He certainly went up a notch, competitiveness-wise, at the end of last season, but this year has been encouraging so far. Most likely should have beaten Hewitt in Brisbane, will be sending Grigor hexes from now til doomsday about Oz, and he's beaten Nole and Berdy in Dubai.

What's not to like?

Huge hold for Roger. Good man.

Rodge is looking hungry out there... maybe not as bad a Kieran in front of his telly, but pretty close.

It's his fraternal twin, Boozy Janowicz.
