Even if The Man shows up, Roger will probably routine him. The reason I say this is because, even though it's a slow court, Stan's returning probably won't trouble Wodge too much and he is too inconsistent in his own service games to do the damage. In last year's 3 hour festival Fed was serving puff balls because of his back problems. Something like 7-5 6-3 if they both start out well.

Looking like a great score prediction so far.

Only if he wins on Sunday! :snicker

Aw c'mon. Murray wouldn't even be #2 at all if Roger hadn't skipped the cup named after him.

Yeah but he did didn't he! ;) Shoulda Coulda Woulda! :snicker

Rankings wise, McToothy is #2. Quality of tennis this year? Roger hands down, second only to Novak.

Congrats to Rog. With four kids at home, he has become an expert at putting babies to bed. :clap

Yep. Murray put in the work, he gets the ranking. May Federer win on Sunday and earn it on the rankings as well.

Roger is likely back to number 2 regardless in January anyway given how little he's defending and how much Murray is at the AO.

I missed seeing this thead, so I'll ask my question here -

How many different ways did Fed win matches this week? Even if it he loses tomorrow, it's still rather remarkable that the best in the world are still getting schooled by a 34 year-old who was declared a has-been about 5 years ago...

Berdych - Drop shot clinic
Djokovic - Serving clinic
Nishikori - Grinding clinic
Wawrinka - Serve & volley\net clinic
Djokovic in the Finals - everything AND the kitchen sink clinic?

How many game plans has this guy got?

Gosh, it doesn't sound like you have much faith in Andy making it back to the Aussie final. Can't imagine why...:laydownlaughing

Chalk that up to Fed's hunger and love for the game, and Edberg's insight. Truly impressed at the adjustments they have made to keep the old Goat, not just viable, but at the top of tennis.

Or Miaimi. That's another tourney Roger skipped that Murray made it to the finals. If Roger had played they'd have been in the same half of the draw. Basically Murray's #2 because Roger skipped 2 Masters events and lost early in 2 Master events (Madrid & Shanghai). Shanghai is the one that really hurt the most though because it was late in the year an dRoger lost 1000 points with his early loss.
