Bloody hell, things have just been awful with Novak tennis-wise for almost 2 years now. What a mess. I hope Vajda can make him feel more like his old self at least.
I feel for you, Denis, and thanks for weighing in as a Nole fan, even if just to vent. Everyone is confused, and these must be very rough times for his fans. I also think that having Vajda back seems like the best idea, at least in the short-term.

^I agree on the impact of Ljubicic but I think it's important not to under-estimate the impact of Edberg as well. Stefan began the work on Roger's backhand, in fact he did most of it. And his work on improving Roger's positioning for volleys was invaluable. What I think Ivan has done is help with Roger's mentality. I think the combination of the two has been invaluable for him. Perhaps Ivan was better able to get into Roger's head because the two of them have been close friends for years so that endorses your point about the importance of the coaching relationship

Most important contribution of Edberg was to make Fed come to the net more often than he did before. Edberg drilled in him that he needs to sustain coming in at opportune times despite getting killed sometimes.

Yes that's true, but it was more than that. I remember watching an interview where Roger said how blown away he was by Edberg showing him how to approach the net, so that he could more effectively restrict passing shot locations. Federer said it made him appreciate Edberg's volleying even more
