Estoril Final

I really don't have a horse in this race, but I would like to see Stan the Man win this one. He is better player on clay than his results show, perhaps. ferrer has more titles so that is my only reasoning. Hopefully it will be a nice final.

Likewise. Given Stan's great form of late a title win may propel him to greater showings in the slams and may be just what the doctor ordered.

Stan won his 4 title, 3rd on clay, rather easily: 6-1, 6-4

Nice. Again missed this one. Had loads of stuff to do today so I missed both finals but that's a very conclusive win for Stan against a top clay courter.

Get the feeling that Wawrinka may prove to be quite a spoiler at RG and break a few people's hearts if he plays up to his potential and doesn't falter in the big moments. Seems clay's a really good surface for him.

Stan was the man. I watched first set only and he was playing really well. Ferrer is in a serious decline, there must be something wrong with him.

Just back from a thigh injury I believe.

Apparently no AP, he didn't play it last year and he can't add any points either because he has too many 250 tournaments. So he is at status quo (at least that is how I understood it)....not that math was my favourite subject far from it.:D

Don't believe so but herios is the man for this. All I know is Ferrer stood to gain nothing even by winning Estoril so I guess reaching the final secured his points in that case. He was runner up in Barcelona last year and runner up here this year. I know Barcelona is a 500 and Estoril is a 250 so different points up for grabs but I don't think he lost any here regardless but I may be wrong. Still plenty of time for Ferrer to stink things up in Madrid and Rome for Nadal to recapture number 4 by RG.

Correct, Ferrer lost no points in Estoril
