I always liked that winner hitting machine, but his performance today, my god. This would have been a straight set (18+) scene if he could have returned better today, and I am not joking. Wawrinka was literally just pushing returns over the net and still won. What's the winner count, 60?

pretty sure it would have been a straight set blowout against anyone not named djokovic and murray with the way he played today

Congrats to Stan, I haven't seen the match but I've read that he played superb
Also I've read that whoever has beaten Nadal in RG whoever loses against a Swiss, and it's so true
And something else that I've read from a good source is that Stan was practicing with Nadal for one month. Nadal wasn't ready to play his best but it seems that those practices have worked well for Stan :clap

Does it matter who roots for who? Once we swear allegiance to a house, is there no possibility of switching over to another house when your first house of choice crumbles? I find it amusing too if a Nadal fan suddenly jumps from that sinking ship over onto the Wawrinka bandwagon, but that's all it is, just amusing. I like lots of players like Berdych, Ferrer, Nishikori and such with my favorite being Murray. Do I have to sign a form somewhere when I suddenly decide I want to be a Sock fan? Let me know and I'll make all the Ts are crossed and Is dotted before proclaiming allegiance to House Sock.

A bit of tongue in cheek here but some people are taking this way too seriously IMO. We saw an underdog play the way of his life against the hot, hot, hot World No. 1 in the final of a Grand Slam. Hard not to get excited about that.

I'm not a big Wawrinka fan person-wise because of what I've heard about his family, but tennis-wise, that was truly inspiring yesterday.

I am in an airport at the moment getting ready to get on a flight, so I have not seen much of the match. It seems to me that Stanislaus no longer has any fear of Novak or Roger for Rafael, for that matter. I think you now believes in himself and in less than a year and three months, he has 2 majors. He now has as many as Andy Murray, who has not won one in sometime now. The amazing thing is that I could see how many more in the next year or two. He keeps playing like this, Novak and others had better be concerned.
