Buddy Holly - Peggy Sue

Bruce Springsteen & E Street band - Outside Lookin' In (Recorded in 1978 but never relaesed until 2010 'The Promise' basically made up of outtakes of his famous "Darkness on the Edge of Town" album).
As the song goes along, the guitar work sounds a lot like "Peggy Sue" IMO.

It's as if they're performing a cover of their own song. Very interesting.

Awesome find for this topic. Features slightly different lyrics.

Great find. Folk music icon Mickey Newbury used a portion of this for his "American Trilogy" later made famous by you-konw-who.

Back to the Stones again. This take features Eric Clapton, recorded 1970, one year before they recorded the more familiar classic

Time to revive this. If you are really deep fan and research a variety of music, there will be something here for you to enjoy.

This is an alternate take sung by Lennon alone, without backing vocals. It sounds so bare as compared to the released version, but I like this primitive, raw quality, and the imperfect solo, which it seems was played by John himself. Listen out for the intro too !
This rawer version was officially released on the first volume of the "Anthology" series :

The Boss - Point Blank.

Point Blank was first released on his 'The River' double LP in 1980 but with this alternate, Bruce really rocks it up. It's nothing like the Ballad arrangement that was commercially released -

This is the final mix that was ultimately released on the Eldorado album in 1974 -

The Doors alternate versions of L.A. Woman, Riders on a Storm and Love Her Madly are great. These are from the 4oth Anniversary remastered edition of the L.A Woman album which has alternate takes and rehearsal material -
