Isner won a match without any tiebreaks in it. The last time it happened
was 1947.

Delpo closes it out fairly easily. I would like young guys like Tomic to hate losing a bit more and take it more personal. Maybe he does, but I am not seeing it.

When you act casually, you become a casualty.

Atomic is not even close to the elite level and it is doubtful he will ever get there.

Another one of the Young Guns who seems to be shooting blanks.

Lots of duds so far..Milos, The Dog, Harrison...etc...I guess we have to realize there are only 5 or 6 players that are mentally and technically flawless...it is an insanely elite group.

excellent guess luxilon borg.

my favorite players would be people like vilas, muster, kuerten, bruguera, and nadal.
vilas and muster are at the top of my list. I need to add borg to that list. he was nothing short of magnificent on clay.

I had the distinct privilege of seeing Vilas, Muster, GUga, Bruguera, Nadal, and Borg play in person (not on clay, unfortunately).

All gods for sure. Borg created the mold. A machine. Iceborg. The Swedish Assassin.:)

impressive. I want to talk to you more about it at the castle.

iceberg was the man they called the "anegelic assassin". players of his day felt they had no chance against him on clay. especially at RG.

Yes, there are a LOT of similarities between Nadal and Borg. Both were known for excessive topspin, incredible speed and stamina, mental toughness, sliding ability, and total domination on clay. Nadal is bigger at 6 foot 1, Borg was 5 foot 11, but Borg was physically dominant at that time as Rafa is now.

Isner's next two matches seem easy. I guess he is a shoe-in for
the DC Finals.

In fact, My guess is that he will lost to anyone who manages to
be across the net in the finals in DC. This is because all big names
are on the other side of John at this point.

I hope Delpo wins. He needs to continue nabbing up the small titles he plays for like the big boys so often do, when they bother to play them.

Does Haas ever win in straight sets these days?:nono:)
He has a definite chance to get to the final.

I am very much anticipating the Gregorova Haas match. Mouth watering.

Agree. He can hang with the big 4, but it takes a huge toll on him physically..

Better to nab a few trophies while they sit out.

That should be fun. They played once, back in 2011, and Dimitrov won:

But that was a different Haas than the one playing this year. I think he'll win.

Wow, thanks for digging that up, awesome..I am leaning toward Mariatrov. Haas played 6 sets or so yesterday. You are correct, Haas is better now than he was ever, even at 25. Should be a good one.
