The Tournament:

The Washington Open (currently sponsored by Citi bank) is a joint professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts, and held annually at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C., United States. The tournament hosts both the women's and men's tennis tours.

About Washington DC

Washington, DC, the U.S. capital, is a compact city on the Potomac River, bordering the states of Maryland and Virginia. It's defined by imposing neoclassical monuments and buildings including the iconic ones that house the federal government's 3 branches: the Capitol, White House and Supreme Court, but also its museums and performing-arts venues such as the Kennedy Center.

Seems like Kyrgios really enjoyed playing doubles with Tsitsipas. He was full of good words for the greek. Kyrgios must be the loneliest guy on the tour when he is so happy after that he played these doubles. I hope he is not trying to turn greek to the dark side :) Anyways, looks like the match was fun.

Nishioka beat favourite Evans, but it should not be a surprise. Kecmanovic beat Popyrin. The 19y old serb is having a really good season and keeps climbing up the ranking.

Khachanov shaved his beard. He plays JWT tonight, someone he was not able to beat yet.

And he didn't beat him tonight. Jo-Wil won in 3.

Beard equals power, like a Samson with a hair :) On a serious note, Tsonga proved to be a tough first match for KK.

Man I really do not like the dude that much but he goes and and quotes from one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies, he gets some brownie points there...

Thanks for posting that. I was entertained! I like Kyrios rather a lot, sometimes despite myself, but the guy can definitely be a showman. ("Gladiator" is a very popular film around these parts...gets cited a lot, along with "The 300." Dudes sure like a swords and sandals epic.)

Sadly, FAA goes down to Cilic. For those that truck in that kind of thing, bad guy beat the good guy.

LOL Tiafoe thought he won the point but he lost it.
Bottom line, never celebrate the point before to be sure you made it

While Felix is coming across as a nice young kid, I am not sure why Marin Cilic needs to get labelled as a "bad guy".
If this is due because of those "cough drops", then it is really tiresome to bring that issue over and over up.
People do make mistakes in their lives, but if those are not repeated, we should not hold it against then forever.
