This may be a sign that she shouldn't play 2 tournaments back-to-back. She's older now and probably should space her tourneys out to leave recovery time.

KSkate: The announcers said She has played more this year than

ever 64 matches. She has played 2 back to back before, but never

after such a grueling season. I agree she shouldn't have, but She

wants to win the USO and in order to get that extra Million she had

to do it that way. Arad has played every event so far and is out of the

USO series. Serena played 2 events and has it locked. Smart. but

She didn't count on the ab. With a week off to rest and if the ab

heals she should be all right to make her run. She is playing for history

and father time waits for no one. Serena has more pressure on her than

any player ever. We'll see how it goes.

Well I actually think this loss works more in Serena's favor than it does Vika's favor. Like I said, Vika will be expected to perform against Serena should they meet at the open. Serena has a few less people in her corner and a lot more hopped into the Vika corner with this win just how Serena likes it. She can tell the media and commentators but oh no Vika just won she is the one to beat.

Victoria Azarenka put on a show during her semifinal win over Jelena Jankovic in Cincinnati. However, Azarenka said she wasn’t even aware that she does this during matches.

“I actually heard that from my boyfriend for the first time, and he said, Why do you stick your ass out when you play? I said, well, I don’t do that. He’s like, Yeah, you do. Like what? He’s like, Yeah, you do that, and he was trying to imitate me. I really don’t notice that when I do that. It’s just reaction.”

I don't think of it as kidding herself, but Azarenka did throw herself up a bit higher into the mix with this win which does throw some weight off Serena's shoulders. Hopefully her family shows up to New York, she always seems to do better when Oracene or Richard is there especially with her serve.
