Damn those spies on the sidelines and now the FBI makes a slow motion video about her training in Cinci
@ 10sfan, maybe your daughter can learn something here :)

Si, thanks for the clip. Halep has a great service motion and forehand. Quicker set on her backhand would be better in case she is rushed on that side. My daughter also sets late on her BH despite all my nagging.

I think Halep will have an excellent hard court season. Next year, she should play Canada and Cincy, and skip Yale. She may be number one by then and should manage her schedule accordingly.

Masha has totally forgotten how to play on hard courts and I do hope she will be fine for Cincinnati, otherwise she doesn't stand any chance at US Open.

Can't believe Vee has to play again today. She gets no rest at all. I guess it is what it is.

Serena will probably play one match and then withdraw.

Why would you say that? When was the last time Serena withdrew from a tournament she has already started playing in? Even with an injury she does not really withdraw she tries to play the entire tournament e.g. Wimbledon's doubles.

She withdraw from Madrid this year!!

Wasn't she injured when she withdrew? Serena do not just withdraw from a tournament. You folks are something else.

Poor performance from Heather today, but hopefully her run last week shows she's in decent nick going to New York.

Has anyone heard any speculation about whether Laura Robson will be back on tour before the end of the year? I know she won't make the US Open, but hoping she can start attempting the climb back up the rankings before the end of 2014.

She withdraws when she wants to, whether she's injured or not. She withdrew from Cinci in 2011 after one match (enough to secure her a ranking for the USO). Later that week she was photographed at Kim Kardashian's wedding.

I think you need to do your due diligence. I am a Serena fan and anyone on here can confirm that for you, but, she does occasionally pull out of events if she is fatigued, citing injury as the cause of her withdrawal.

Fact is, she withdrew from Madrid citing an injury, and then played and won Italy the very next week.

I am not knocking her for it, but, history reflects that it's a possibility.

I don't think Serena is going to withdraw though as she needs all the practice she can get in fine tuning her ground game. Her serve has improved leaps and bounds from where it was earlier this year.

The first serve is better, but the 2nd serve is suffering as a result. It's suspect and getting abused by too many 2nd rate players.

Has anyone heard anything about Petko's health - hoping last week was something minor, and she's ready to play some solid matches over the next couple of weeks.

I wish she would take more chances on 2nd serve return. I notice some of her opponents have had it a lot easier on their second serves at times than they should be which in turn doesn't make them feel pressured to get that first serve in play.
