what is serena' problem.

I think the announcer said it could be a flare up w/ her back. It can be a consequence of playing so much. 3 weeks in a row on HC is difficult for a young person, Serena (while fit) is no spring chix anymore.

She took a pair of Tylenol pills during the end of second set break.

Make that 8 Kiu and she dumps serve again. Serena up 3-2, but can she hold?

This is by no means a clean match by Caro, she won't win it playing this way.
58% first set percentage is not good enough either.

That was a strange match. None of the players played a good game. Both filled with errors and the one with the biggest serve won. Congrats to Serena but it was an ugly win - but a win. Come again Caro you've had a terriffic week with a semifinal that's good. Now go on and win in New Haven that's your tournament. And Serena go out and get your first Cincy title tomorrow.

Serena holds her serve in the 10th game of deciding set to win 2-6 6-2 6-4
Serena is into the finals.
Disappointing performance by Caro, she still has work to do. The serve failed her today.

I'd say a disappointing performance from both. It was an ugly match.

Caroline was consistent in the first set, and Serena overpowering in the second, and then erratic play from both in the third.

What a craptastic match by Serena and Caroline! She better clean it up tomorrow! I am hoping she can win Cincy and gain some major confidence in winning a tournament she has never won before the US Open.

Also, it looks to me like Serena has gone ahead and won the US Open Series again because it doesn't look like anyone else can gain enough points to catch her at this point.

Just read on the WTA website,by virtue of her s/final win over Woznicaki,Serena has clinched US Open Series Title, and will go for a record $4 million payout at the USO.

Gee my computer is letting me post this...having major troubles with my computer at the moment.

Pova/Ana started.

For those of you who think I am a Pova fan, lets make it clear.
I want Ana to win this in 2

Why?
1) I am a tennis fan
2) I don't think Ana can win in 3
3) I don't wanna see Masha play Serena in the finals.

Enough reasons?

Ana looks much better than Maria this evening, but Maria is always dangerous. I agree with you, Kiu…Ana has to look to win it in this set. If Maria gets her teeth back in the match, she is fierce. And she's been pulling off this comeback act all summer.

Ivanovic gets the break in the 2nd. She is really pressuring Sharapova's serve. Standing even inside the baseline. She's playing well, but bravely, too and with confidence.

Is this her new coach's effect? Because Serena might be in trouble tomorrow...

I don't know when she took on the new coach, but they just said Ana has the most wins on tour this year. (46) She's playing great tonight. If she wins tonight, and plays this well tomorrow, and Serena doesn't play better than she did today, Serena could be in trouble.
