Murray should shove a racquet up his a$$ if he manages to lose on this slow hard court, where he should feel at home. As for Nadal's chances he should play some challenger on clay if possible. His last showing on a hard court was, to say the least, pathetic. At least make the unforced error like a man, serving 80 mph and sending moonballs won't win you a lot of ATP matches.

GSM, lets make this interesting if young Luke makes it to the gtr and beats Rafa , I will write two lines of good cheer about my fav Fed fan( it isn't the back:snicker) but if he doesn't you have to do the same about your fav Rafa fan. (U know who she is), is that a wager?

I have already said good things about her. She is much better than several other Nadalites who used to hang around here such as "autopilot". "autopilot" actually used to go even beyond tennis and think Nadal is a prophet.

Provoking again and again? I don't know who was "autopilot" but talking about "a prophet" I see that some of the Federates are not behind him, I'd say you are ahead of everyone :p :cover :nono

Rafa v Grigor in the quarters. The world of Rafa fans sighs a huge gasp of relief that he avoided that French bloke again. Lucas. But it's a pity for Lucas, because I'm enjoying his and Zverev's recent runs of good form...

Rafa has played very solid first set against Mannarino but I think he was too relaxed in the second set and it was a big mistake because his opponent is not great but usually gives some work to everyone.
I would have loved to see Rafa vs Pouille but......I will have to wait for another time

I couldn't be more thrilled for both; along with Thiem! We can only hope it continues and we finally get a challenging new generation! I love checking out the record books with the "Big 4" dominating like no other era, but there should be some odd wins sprinkled in there; a lot more than done by DP, Wawrinka, Cilic,& even Murray! Andy's had many chances, but Lendl's been the only coach to bring it out of him! I know I go on and on about the Golden Ages I got to witness with Borg/Connors/McEnroe/Lendl, Sampras/Courier/Chang/Agassi, culminating in what we have now! The thing is, the previous 2 eras had quite a few winners of majors due to apathy by the top players and occasional upsets; esp. "down under" and RG! I can recall "Black Monday" at FO in '90 when the tourney lost both Edberg and Becker! That just never happens anymore! Those past eras at any given tournament, you could have as many as a dozen winners of majors! TODAY? Fuggedaboutit! :nono  :dodgy: :cover

My thoughts are this Rafa fan isn't worried bout Lucas P. As I stated before Lucas played well whereas Rafa wasn't playing an aggressive style that day that was needed to quickly subdue someone of his stature who hasn't experienced a lot of success in the later rounds of a tournament. I didn't see the match been too busy with work. Not worried bout Grigor either.

Aggressive? You mean flailing away from 30 feet behind the baseline? :cover  :nono  :dodgy:

Rafa played a very aggressive first set and very good serve, I hope he will do the same against Dimitrov getting the 8-0

Hmm...I wouldn't be over confident about Grigor yet. He can be dangerous when focused and I'm sure he'd love Rafa's head on his mantle. I would still favor Rafa but don't think it is a foregone conclusion he wins.

It seems that the new coach Daniel Vallverdu (from Spain) is helping Dimitrov more than he helped Muzz

I just check the scores. Why is Nadal getting peppered by inconsistent Dimi. He's down 6-2 2-0 :cover

I don't think anyone thinks a Rafa match vs anyone is a foregone conclusion.. He is getting his lunch money taken from him by Grigor

He's not inconsistent today, obviously. This seems like typical Rafa, since 2015. But grigor must be playing tough to be in so much control...
