Here is the draw for Chennai ATP 250. This is Stan's tourney to lose. But, he may in fact do so fast as he is likely to face the rising youngster Borna Coric in his opening match. Another interesting player to watch here is Goffin.

Coric was not a stumbling block for Stan:
Wawrinka - Coric 6-1, 6-4

I think there is only one major non-stumbling block left for Stan in the form of Goffin.

I thought Mahesh Bhupathi retired. May be he did not make as much Moolah out of IPTL as he
expected and so unretired. Any way, he played doubles in Chennai and lost to Leander Paes in QF.

If Stan wins his next match against Muller, he secures his 4 ranked spot for the AO.

Shows how much I pay attention to these small tourneys! Didn't have a clue! Oh well! Just catching the end of Hopman semi! Love Radwanska and hope Navratilova can help her get to another level! :p Unfortunately she lost to Cornet!

Somehow, a qualifier ranked outside top 100 beating a #2 seeded Spaniard in his first match at Chennai did not get much press coverage. I wonder what must be the reason ? Poor Lopez, even in defeat he gets eclipsed by another #2 seeded Spaniard beaten in his first match by a qualifier ranked outside top 100 at Doha. :speechless:

A, Bedene from Slovenia upset back to back the two Lopez, Feliciano and Guiilermo Garcia, now battling the third Spanish seeded Bautista Agut.

Outstanding event for Bedene who entered as a qualifier, to reach his first ATP final. he defeated Bautista Agut as well:
3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8)

Didn't watch any of his matches but job well done by him and he should wear this in future.

End of road for Bedene.

I am sure Bedene did already more than he has dreamed of this week. A 157 ranked player who defeats the 14, 35 and 15 ranked player in a row cannot complain that he failed to beat the 4 ranked.

^ Never know, Bedene may yet win. He beat Stan at this very same tournament in 2013, Stan beat him the following year so maybe it's Bedene's turn again. Fingers crossed Bedene will win.

Interesting. I still think that Stan will prevail.

The Chennai Open is known for taking more scalps of famous or higher ranked players. So, Bedene has a good chance after all ;)
