serena should be doing the catching up on Maria's commanding wimbledon finals H2H lead 1>0 first before thinking of BJK

What does this even mean Sherona? You do realize in order for Serena to have a chance to catch up, they both have to get to the Wimby final. Maria has only gotten to the final one other time only to be sent packing by Petra, while Serena went on to multiple Wimby finals and winning it 3 more times. Neither seemed all that focused or motivated to get to the final this year, so I guess we wait for 2014.

So exactly how is Serena supposed to even your designated playing field if Maria doesn't show up in the final?

She can, but I think after this year she may want to reevaluate her schedule and drop a couple tournaments next year. She is looking a bit weary this second half of the season. I think Serena will take her career and her Wimbledon record over Maria's career and Wimbledon record any day sherona. I think Serena is more focused on her slam numbers than title count, but she will take both as she gets those numbers.

It seems she more mentally weary than physically. I think mentally she put so much into the French Open, that by Wimbledon, she was "maxed" out in psychologically, although she's technically holding up pretty well.

2013 is over, I mean the Tennis season, Serena had the best year of her career, she got 11 titles, just about sweeped every premier level titles there was and won 2 Slams and the YEC.

57 is now where Serena resides at.

Billie Jean at 67, Serena needs 10 more...

I think she can. She stands a good shot at the French, and her favorite season is just around the corner with Wimbledon and the US Open.

Absolutely. It's more a matter of going through the motions, than wondering if it will happen. I feel confident she'll surpass BJK, and most likely before the USO.

:laydownlaughing And I don't know why I'm laughing as my own math skills are awful! And about Serena I think it depends on if her health can hold up. Injuries have slowed her again this year so she needs to get healthy and stay healthy. If she can do this, I think she will catch BJK.

I think it depends more on whether she plays past 2016. If she does she'll pass BJ for sure. If not then it could be close. Again, as others say, I think she could care less. :p

I doubt Serena cares less about catching BJK - it will happen anyway. The main hunt will be 22 majors (Steffi) and then the 24 (Margaret Court).
