Just checked and found out that one of the permanent courts there is covered (not exactly "indoors" as it is not a completely closed structure), and that the actual tournament is played just on the central court and in this one (court 1), so, contrary to what I wrote above, yes, all tournament is played indoors. The other courts are left for training (I wrongly assumed they were used), and actually there are more indoor courts available for training on a club just across the street, so, ok, they can gloat about the indoor nature of the event.

This is the world's best indoor clay tourney :D. You did not realize that despite being from that place.

Not to be a pill, but if a structure isn't enclosed, but just covered, it's not really "indoors," is it? Also, ATP lists it as "Outdoor Clay."

EVERYbody is dangerous when F3 is involved! :)
Including Fognini! I don't know how you pegged him as a favorite. He drives me crazy. But we all have those. I had Safin. Cali and others had Nalbandian. Every time I decide I'm going to embrace F3, he does something that makes me want to hate him. And then he pulls me back in...or you do. :cheerleader:

All I can say is that he must be strong with the dark side of the force! Because, normally, his on-court demeanor is everything I hate in a tennis player. Still, for whatever reason, I like the guy.

Honestly, even if I routinely pass in front of it, I never noticed that other covered court, and found about it just yesterday. Anyway I plan to see a match later today, so I can check it for myself. From the photo I saw, I judged that the structure is not enclosed, but, who knows, that would be another example of the classical "jeitinho brasileiro" (roughly "Brazilian little work around"). Maybe is decent after all and I am being too harsh on my fellow compatriots.

About Fognini, after hating him to the guts for a long time, now I root for him 99% of the times. But he is still a fucking prima donna...

You are right that ATP lists it as outdoor clay. But, I believe that is a change. They used to list it as indoor clay before.

It could be that in the last two years the tournament was played in another venue, which was indeed outdoors. They came back to arena this year.

This Chilean kid Jarry has a future. He has a monster forehand and is not afraid to use it.

Have not seen him playing yet, but I am checking his results, especially since I found out that he is the grandson of Jaime Fillol

He is offensively lazy in court
